Re: found this seller on ebay china nockoffs

  • Yeah but you for sure get what you pay for there :(
  • Please, whatever you do, do NOT order a knock-off from China!  Too many brides-to-be have been so incredibly disappointed - and totally ripped off - by these Chinese knock-offs!  Take your time and look, shop carefully, and you'll find a gorgeous dress at a great price.

@cynthiaintx i already found my gown at a local owned bridal shop .  i was on ebay looking for some random bridal stuff like chiffon wraps for my maids as they have to be covered up for church. and i found this sellers page with all kinds of gowns around 100-150 which i thought was odd.  when i first started looking for gowns i went to a bridal consignment and even her older style dresses from 2007-2010 were in the 400+ range for prices.but nothing cought  eye so i went the pick a dress from the salon and have it ordered route

whats even stranger about these gowns listed on ebay is the background they are shown in looks like the same background as a seller from ny that is selling gowns on the preowned wedding website
  • I love how the e-bay description says it is a "store sample" with "a few defects"

they could be store samples but i cant figure out why she would have them listed so low my though is she wants to get more people to look at her listings and have more than 1 bidder so she can get 200-400 on the dresses.

some looked ligit including the randi fenoli one but the link i posted up here comparing the 2 dresses the maggie she had and the stock photo of the real maggie something looked off then after looking at the photos again the maggie she owns has no beading on it plus her supposed maggie looks like crap compared to the original

plus i found her on preowned wedding dresses and she has a gown for sale in the 1,100 range fishy to me i noticed the same background as the ebay pictures

  • Yeah lots of people do this, although some sellers will actually steal images of the real dress from an authentic retailer, and post those on their listing so it looks real- until you get it in the mail months later (If at all) and it looks lie a pile of crap.  They're not store samples, they're sloppily made with cheap materials.  Same goes for any brand name product being sold for a huge discount that ships from china.
In general, if the price seems too good to be true, it is.

  • Take it from someone who made the mistake of buying a Chinese dress for the Marine Corps ball. They are complete and utter crap. Cheap material, weird fit, loose strings, etc. Also, their return policies may seem reasonable, but when you receive the dress and you hate it (you will), it will be difficult to bring yourself to spend the $50 to send it back to China to get a $100 refund.

  • i already got my dress a mori lee at an authorized store very close to  where i live i did not have to travel far at all to any of the stores i visited. i feel bad for those who are going online and purchasing from her.

i cant understand why you would have on the preowned wedding site current styles of dresses for sale as a sample i know rarely will a store sell a current sample unless its like a dire situation. they usually wait until the sample is discountinued then sell it
  • I bought a gown from this seller.  It's an old Pronovias from 2005.  It's beautiful, but yeah, it's older. It's beautiful, in perfect shape and fits well.  It's a charmeuse silk sheath with a ruched bodice-a classic style, so the age of the gown doesn't bother me.  I went out on a limb because the measurements were perfect and it was $100.  I think we're looking at a seller with way older gowns, not necessarily fakes.  I'm only bothered that it was listed as a 2013 gown.  The seller had excellent communication about condition and measurements, but I was skeptical from my own research that the gown wasn't from a current collection. I don't really care, because it looks beautiful and there's no way I could spend even $600 for a lower end gown.  It was a dice roll, I know.  But the seller has 100% positive feedback with close to 200 sales. I'm happy as a clam and I love the dress.  And hey, it was less than a pair of nice jeans.
