Indecisive brides are the worst!

Was watching an episode of Say Yes to the Dress and this girl literally tried on 100 gowns (at various shops) and just kept saying "hate it" to every one but not giving any criticism of what she liked or disliked or wanted. Her mom and sister were about ready to ring her neck and so was I- I was screaming at the tv "just pick one you dumb B-ch!"

I found mine the very first day I went shopping, it was about the 10th one I tried one but #8 was a real close contender- how about you?

To try on that many gowns is crazy! Especially not giving any ideas as to what she wanted, and what she liked and didn't like. I'd be mad too if I was her mom or sister!

I think I tried on maybe 10 gowns too on the first day I went shopping. Mine was a decision between the 3rd and 4th dress, but I knew the 3rd was the one it considering it was the only one I got teary-eyed with! It just flattered my body shape and worked well with my big chest area, haha.

I tried on maybe 20 dresses at DB. I then went to Alfred Angelo's and tried on two. I liked them both and basically had to think about which one I wanted more. My mom favored one more than the other and bam that's what we went with.

I tried on about 10 at the first bridal shop I went to, but really didn't like the service there. I went to a second salon, and ending up trying on about 5 dresses, including my favorite from the first shopping trip. I ended up buying my favorite from the first day. If the customer service had been better at the first store I went to I probably would have bought it there.

I'm going to try on dresses on Friday. I'm so excited! I keep telling my FMIL that she's going to have to drag me out of there. I can see myself trying on a lot.

However, 100 is effing crazy.

I tried on probably about 6 at Alfred and then was going through the DB website to compare similar styles. There was one I tried on at AA and dismissed because had a pink inlay and I saw something similar on the DB website and checked it for price and saw they had a blue inlay on and I knew then it was my dress without trying it on.

See you are all normal!! I also think it's SO strange that she didn't even have a style or shape in mind, she was just trying anything....I walked in knowing damn well that I wanted lace fit n flare with straps and that's what I got lol

I didn't know what I wanted going in (except that I did NOT want strapless), but even then, I only tried on maybe 15 dresses altogether? And the dress I picked was at the first store in the window. My sister pointed it out the second we were in the store and said "that's your dress!" She knows what I like!
I couldn't imagine trying on that many dresses - I hate shopping, and that includes shopping for dresses. I also didn't have the crying moment - apparently I'm dead inside when it comes to dresses.

I have to admit I had no idea what style I wanted. The only thing I knew is that I didn't want to wear white. Lol. I think all together I tried on 15 dresses before I picked one. Actually I just picked my dress this morning so I'm still pretty excited about it.

I found my dress in the Knot's magazine. I went to Priscilla of Boston and requested to try it on. They said because it was so new they had to have it shipped from another store. I tried on 6 dresses while I was there. I came back two weeks later, tried on the dress and purchased it right then and there.

I tried on 8, went with #1 and was in and out in 45 minutes. I guess I just didn't care that much. It was beautiful, cheaper than I budgeted and I liked it. No crying or anything. I think people have wayyyy to many expectations for a piece of fabric to be worn one time.

I just caught that episode thanks to the wonders of DVR. That girl was SO annoying! She was just like hate it...hate...don't like it... I felt so bad for her mom and sister. I'm was so thankful when my mom and I went shopping with my sister that she went in knowing exactly which dress she wanted. She tried on about 4 or 5 others just to compare but the dress she ended up buying was the dress she had asked the boutique to order a sample of.

Although I think it's hilarious that it's shown so much that I never even have to post a picture, anyone who watches the show immediately knows what I mean when I say "That tacky see through pnina gown" XD

I was kind of maybe one of those brides. I went shopping 11 times, so I would imagine close to 100 dresses.

I tried on all different styles the first time I went shopping. Verified I do not want a ball gown and I do want lace. Two of my shopping trips were at a warehouse (literally) and the dresses were gross. So those don't count. But I was always open to trying on whatever the consultant suggested. I found lots of pretty dresses, but none of them were IT.

I finally realized that THE DRESS doesn't seem to exist outside of my head. I bought a dress that's 95% THE DRESS and have an excellent seamstress. I'm still terrified that it's not going to be right.

Clearly I don't do decision making well.

I'm someone who tried on over 100 dresses. I wanted to shoot myself by the end of dress shopping. I think I went to 7-8 different places over a couple of months. I think part of my indecision was that I wanted a gold coloured dress, and couldn't find many that were gold, and another was that I've never thought about dresses before I got engaged. I knew within the first store though what looked good on me and what didn't, but couldn't find anything I really liked. I think I bought dress number 64 or something like that, and I didn't really love it until after the alterations started.

My first wedding I think I tried on about 50 dresses. But I went in thinking I wanted one style dress that didn't work for my body, but nobody would say that. Finally when I tried on a big, Aline gown with lots of tulle, beading, loooong train (complete opposite from what I wanted) I fell in love. Sometimes I think it is better to be open minded.

although I guarantee if you watch at least two episodes of say yes to the dress you'll see it XD It has a few different forms too, there is the princess one, there is also an a line and mermaid version which are both more glittery, I mean like "tinker bell barfed on this" glittery XD

As for the original question… I could see myself going either way. I'm super picky. I'm the person who will walk into a clothing store, look at every single article of clothing, pick like three that I "like," then after trying them on MAYBE I'll still like one enough to get it. I've been making clothes since I was ten, including a quinceanera gown for my friend and both my prom gowns, so I have high standards for clothing. Basically if I try on a gown and think to myself "I can make that," I'm not going to want it XD

I do know what kind of look I want, though, I am a sucker for lace and want a really romantic look with flowers in my hair. I tend to fall for v-necks or sweethearts, and although I'll probably never afford it I absolutely drool over Lazaro gowns XD

I was thinking of the same top but the God awful drop waist with the draped skirt...it's all the same slutty top on her dresses. (Except for the baseball wife princess special with the super bling and ginormous skirt!) I especially love when they tell the dad "don't worry we can add the modesty panel"- like that's gonna stop his "princess" from looking like a cheap tramp. And then dad usually likes out better without the panel ~ creepy!

I can't watch that show unless I am only 1/2 paying attention. I usually have it on while cleaning or something. Otherwise I'd be wanting to strangle too many of the brides on there.

Me too. I tolerate the brides because I like looking at the dresses, I've been making my own clothes for a long time, so I've always enjoyed looking at the gowns. I'm usually sketching or doing my nails while I'm watching, unless I watch it with my MOH- She and I tend to be really sassy and sarcastic so the commentary that ensues from us watching it together makes it fun XD

LOL I'm totally the opposite- I go shopping, grab one thing of the rack from the entire store that I absolutely love and just buy it immediately. But that's really awesome that you make your own, I've always wished I knew how. When I suggested buying a machine and learning my fiance said "don't be a hippy" hahaha But I really wish I knew how for future kid's costumes and stuff!

Ugh they really are the worst! My sister tried on 25-30 dresses at four different bridal shops, even buying one, before she found her dress. I hate clothes shopping so it began to be painful. Some of those Say Yes To the Dress women are ridiculous.

I had a pretty clear idea of the kind of dress I was looking for. I went into Pronovias, tried on 4 of the 5 dresses I'd printed out pictures of, even though I didn't want to try on any after the first one because I loved it so much lol. I ended up buying the first dress that day. I loved it!!!

I bought the first one I put on and I love it. I did try on about 7 more just to make sure, but I kept comparing it to the first!

Lol I tend to have problems with how clothes fit me so for me it's a huge process- it also doesn't help that the super flowy, shapeless look is in, and since I have a large bust clothes with that fit hang right down and make me look as big all over as my bust is. As for making your own, It's never too late to learn, you can buy patterns at any fabric store that give detailed instructions on how to make the garment. I learned by using those patterns for a while, then I bought an adjustable mannequin to make my own clothing patterns with. You could definitely find great patterns for future kids costumes
