White veil with ivory dress?

Can this be done or would it look weird? My dress is ivory and my friend offered to let me borrow her veil, which happens to be the style I want, but it's white.

If it's a bad idea, I will just buy one but I thought if I could save the $$, even better!

    I think it might make the dress look dirty or dingy because of the colour difference.

    Put them together in white/natural light and find s friend with a big mirror. I suspect it'd be a noticeable difference. Up to you if you like the effect.

    I would try them both on and take pictures in different lights. You can always skip wearing a veil.

    I would try them, my gown is DB's "soft white" and my veil is ivory because the pure white looked strange against my dress and the ivory veil is so sheer that it matches much better.

    I have an ivory dress and a white veil. I am completely fine with it. The dress doesn't look dirty at all. So it all depends on you.

    I agree with PPs. Try them on together in different lighting to get a look at them. Even have someone take pics (with and without flash) so you can see what they look like in pics. (I know professional photographers cameras are better but it's better than nothing).
