Gown Stores (Preferably with Websites)

Does anyone have a suggestion on a place in the Boston area reasonably priced gowns, preferably with a website to see some of the dresses?

Thanks.

Re: Gown Stores (Preferably with Websites)

  • Vows in Watertown has all of their dresses online.
  • Precious memories in Malden
  • I second precious memories. They don't have all the gowns online, but their store is very large.  They were very helpful and nice.

  • Not sure if you're exactly in Boston or the suburbs like me, but I got mine at Pronuptia in Worcester. I went to a different shop before and was SO disappointed that they didn't have any of the dresses from their website. They kept showing me all these strapless even though I made it 100% clear that I hate strapless. So I got to Pronuptia not in the best mood and the girl instantly listened to what I was looking for and we found the winner within 30 minutes, it was amazing!!
  • I got my gown at Country Weddings in Hingham.  http://www.southshorebridal.com/
    Good luck!
  • I got my gown at La Reine Bridal in Waltham.

I worked with Deema for not only my gown but my bridesmaids' dresses as well. I found my gown at another store but Deema was able to work with me, after trying on similar gowns, and get my gown at a great, affordable price, well within my budget.

They carry tons of designers as well as dresses in store but also can find you what you want as long as they carry the designer.
  • How far in advance did people order their gowns, and how long did it actually take to get them in?  We were planning a wedding for Aug/Sept, but now due to scheduling conflicts we may be looking at late June... Thanks!
  • Has anyone tried Berkachi in Wakefield or The Bridal Secret in Quincy?

I ordered mine in August and it came in a few weeks ago - so about 4 months. But every designer is different. If you're planning a June wedding, you probably should go dress shopping ASAP.
    Anniversary
  • They told me my particular dress is on a 6 month schedule right now, my wedding is in 9 months so I'm just safe. But my sister in law got pregnant and had to get a new dress 2 months before the wedding and she got one on the spot so you might luck out!
  • Check out Giggi's Boutique www.giggisboutique.com Good luck!

Yeah, I ordered my dress in August and it should come in in January or February (my wedding is in June). However, I added some custom additions to it. I would recommend going soon, but it really depends on the designer.

  • I ordered mine in June from La Reine and it's arriving next month. They said about 6 months turn around time.
  • I tried The Bridal Secret in Quincy-- small of-the-rack boutique in Quincy Center.

It's great, and I got my dress there!! It's appointment only and not the kind of place where you can pop in with your whole bridal party and have your run of the place... but that is a good thing because you will actually find a high-quality dress that you love for an awesome price.

The owner, Judy, started by talking to me about my wedding and what I think I want in a dress, then having me browse the racks with my mom and MOH and mark 5 dresses that I'd like to try. It's all off-the-rack and I'm a wedding dress size 6, but she assured me I can try on up to a 14 and she can alter it down several sizes without costing more than taking it down one size.  I ended up buying a size 10 Essence of Australia dress for $800!  These normally go for around $1200-1600 I think. The quality felt so much nicer than what I'd tried at David's and another store.  Not every dress there was my style, but they were all well-made and well-taken-care of (they don't let brides just take a bunch to try on themselves in the fitting room, and are careful to keep them in good condition).

So I don't have to wait for them to order it, just have to go back in April to have it taken down to my size and then more fittings in the summer.
  • I bought my dress at http://grandasia.com/ in Quincy Center. Huge selection at various price ranges and the service is amazing. In fact the dress I bought was $400 less at Grandasia than the SAME dress at Bella Sera Bridal.
  • Precious memories also!
