I found my shoes!!

I love them. I think they're cute and according to reviews they're comfortable. I also will not be towering over my FI either. Lol.

Re: I found my shoes!!

  • I'm wearing the same ones! They are super comfortable, but just a warning I found them to run big. I ordered my normal size (9.5) and ended up retuning them. Since I needed them ASAP for my dress fitting I reordered a 9 and an 8.5. I got them today and I'm going with the 8.5.
  • Cute!! I wore red shoes -- I love coloured shoes!

I am going to get them off of Zappos.com for about $47.00 before shipping

    Thanks!
  • Those are so cute!  I love colored shoes on brides and comfy shoes are the best.

My shoes were lime green Kate Spades and they were comfortable so I didn't have to take them off the whole night.  I'm already planning to re-wear them for a bunch of weddings we have this summer.
  • Mine were outrageously comfy blue suede flats that I got for $17 at Payless, haha.

Love the blue shoes!!! They are so pretty! Has anyone worn wedges instead of traditional heels? Just curious as I really like wedges and I am getting married on a brick terrace and don't want to fall face first if a heel gets caught. I am a slight klutz at times...
  • Those are great!

Thanks! A really nice Indian housewife in town did it for me for $90.

How long did it take? How long did it last? Are you/your DH of Indian descent?

Sorry for the bazillion questions -- I'm genuinely curious. I love the wedding traditions of other cultures. An Indian friend of mine is getting married next weekend in India (his fiancée is American) and I am LOVING the FB photos they are posting of their pre-wedding festivities.

One of my girlfriends is of Indian descent and I was invited to her Mehendi party the day before the wedding.  It was awesome-- they had professional henna artists there to give all the women our own henna.  I basically had to treat my hand like glass all night; I slept with it wrapped in plastic so the paste would stay on as long as possible.  I can't imagine getting it on your feet (or covered in it like the bride was)... everyone would have to wait on you all day!  But I imagine that's part of the fun. :)

I was with her for I think four hours? My ass fell asleep like thirty minutes in, so I thought I was going to die. It lasted for about two weeks, and the last little bit didn't disappear from the top of my left foot until about two weeks ago. It actually wasn't hard to go about my normal life right afterwards because she painted it over in sugar and lemon juice. That night, I slept with it wrapped in saran wrap and my husband's socks, and the next morning, I scraped it off with a credit card and then wrapped it in saran wrap and olive oil when I showered.

Neither of us are Indian, but we're Buddhist, and I was wanting to pay tribute to the place that has offered refuge to the Dalai Lama. The lady who did it is also Buddhist and attends the shrine that I go to on occasion for the recitation of the Heart Sutra.

  • That's so awesome! Thanks for sharing!
