First e-mail of the day was someone telling me that I'm wrong (which I'm not).  More coffee please.

What's up for the weekend?

Tonight: The kiddo may go ice skating.  I have to get some wrapping done and go to bed at a decent hour.
Tomorrow: Work for me.  DH is taking the kiddos to Sky Zone for my nephew's bday and then my sister is taking the kids for the night.  After work, it's glam time and then heading downtown for my work party.
Sunday: Baking day with my mom and sisters.  DH has to go into work for a bit (womp, womp).

And we found out this week that H is going to have OOT training for 2 weeks in January.  So much for things slowing down in the new year.  ;)  I currently have vacation for one of the weeks (I took my bday week off because there were no good weeks left open when requesting my 3rd vacation week for next year).  I was going to cancel most of it, but now I'm going to hold off and see things are going after the first week.

Re: Oh Friday

  • Tonight I'm still trying to finish up my SS gifts (I'm in 3) and finish out the office holiday gifts I'm giving. I also have to go and buy a pair of fishnets and a birthday present for a 4-year-old.

Tomorrow I'm trying to finish the gifts and take it really easy with a nap included. H and I are heading to a party tomorrow night that goes from 9 to 5am.

Sunday we have to muster and get to said 4-year-old's birthday party in NJ.
  • DH's parents are back in town (they had been gone since beginning of Oct) and they want our kids for the weekend.  They're picking them up today after school and bringing them back Sunday.

DH and I are attending a party tomorrow night.  It's an "ugly xmas sweater" party but I'm breaking the rules and making DH and I funny sweaters.

Sunday DH and I will order an amazing taco pizza for brunch.  It's a tradition to lay on the couch all morning eating this pizza when we're hungover and have no kids.  This isn't something we get to do often.
  • Your weekend sounds glorious, Taw.  Enjoy that taco pizza and the quiet time.  ;)
  • I'm just waiting for this week to be done and over with. It's been bad :(

This weekend is going to be Xmas shopping without the munchkin. Not much else planned.

  • MIL and sFIL are stopping after a doctor appt. today.  I'm sure it will be a cluster- at naptime, they're dumb enough to walk in with McD's for themselves and nobody else, I'll probably say something I'm not supposed to, etc.  Tonight we are having a Christmas party at the church.  Hopefully we can get a Santa pic there and not have to do the mall.

I baked some gingerbread in cookie molds today and I'm going to dip in chocolate tomorrow.  Along with dipping oreos and peanut butter crackers.  I've also made dough for cutouts and have 2 cranberry nut breads in the oven.  We'll be delivering holiday joy this weekend.

Hopefully we'll get kitchen plans today so we can discuss too.

  • Ugh.  Everything's up in the air for our weekend.  We were going to head up north to visit DH's family and friends and "do Christmas."  I currently have a sweet rental car (2014 Chevy Impala with all the bells and whistles) so we were going to take advantage of the luxury ride and make the trip.  But there is supposed to be a winter storm.  And also, I have no gifts ready.  Also also, my aunt is in the hospital, and things don't look good, so I don't want to be too far from home.  Ugh, I say.  Ugh.
  • Dang, 6.  Your day/weekend is enough to make me tired.  You're awesome, and bonus points if you don't totally tell your ILs that they are tres rude for bringing McDs for themselves.  Seriously!!?

Today:  I'm trying to wrap my mind around this gantt chart, the phasing and staging of a multi-million dollar job (mall time!-finally) and getting ready to attend a meeting where I will most likely be scared stiff.

Tonight:  I get to hang out with my mama, looking at Sofas, and then my parents will feed me dinner. Which is awesome.  :)

Tomorrow:  First of probably 4-5 christmases, I will get H up at 4 am (after going to bed at 1am) and he will drive north to hunt, return and drive to christmas while I carpool with family, and then I'll drive his tired as home.  And he'll leave again Sunday at 4am.  Unless he gets something tomorrow (Please GOD let it be), but even then he'll probably go again Sunday.

Sunday:  NOTHING.  Groceries....NOTHING.  I am on strike.  (that is my wish)
  • Today is cleaning the house while the baby is at day care for a bit. Tonight we are feeding dinner with my sister and her family then going to see the street near us that goes all out with Christmas decorations.
Tomorrow is more cleaning and laundry, then work.
Sunday will be sleeping then heading over to a friend's place, his mom is making pho for us all for dinner, super excited for some homemade pho!
  • I'm pretty sure I'm not going to the funeral, which makes me feel horrible.  But BF was adamant that no more funerals, hospital trips and we've already had freezing rain this morning, more snow tonight and weather advisory that started at 6 am this morning until 6 am tomorrow morning.  KC isn't looking much better.  And really, I want to go for BF, but it's not like he needs me.  He'll be surrounded by friends and family there.  I've talked to him twice already and I'll talk to him again soon.

Hitting up a new restaurant tonight with friends that we haven't seen in almost a year.  IDK how that happened, but it did.  It's a local food restaurant that is actually located IN the permanent farmers market and one of the best chefs in town, so I'm hoping it'll be yummy.

Other than that, just doing some early baking and getting ready for my fundraiser on Thursday.
  • @auntflo- I'm sorry about your aunt.

@VarunaTT- I'm sorry you won't be able to travel.

  • Cleaning the house, decorating for Christmas, wrapping presents, shopping for hard to buy family, washing the cats (still dealing with a little flea problem), painting ornaments as gifts for family, cooking (haven't cooked all week), exercising, going to the gun show in town for ammo, and hopefully my sciatica will finally go away (still sore in the hip, occasionally in the leg, lots of tension in the calf).

FI wants to wash the cars. He's welcome to do it- I'd rather go through the drive through washer.

Need to plan what all I want to get accomplished between Christmas and New Years when I have time off. Invitations went out at the beginning of the week, woohoo!

  • Thanks, 6.  I'm just kind of mopey about it, which is rather selfish, but I feel like a friend failure.  I actually have lots of emotions wrapped up in this about a lot of things, so perhaps it best I have the weekend to just chill and get my head straight.  I cannot wait for my vacation in another week.
  • V- You are not a friend failure.  He knows you would be there under any other circumstances. If it makes you feel better, remind yourself that now he doesn't have to worry about you on the road.  Go see him another time.
  • Tonight: Dinner with friends before we all head out for a Christmas concert. H went to the concert last year and said it was incredible. I'm excited to be able to join him tonight.

Saturday: Starts with standing outside a store before it opens so we can be one of the first few people to get in. The first X people get gift cards ranging from $75-1000 and its a store that we could easily spend the money at. I'm volunteering at an adoption fair for several dog local dog shelters and then I'm off to a friends bachelorette party.

Sunday: I'm actually going to be home. I'm so excited but probably won't be in any state to be productive until after 12. I'm hoping to put up our Christmas decorations, bake, knit and read all while listening to some classic Christmas music.
