Weight Watchers

I just joined weight watchers and luckily for me time is on my side! 20 months until the big day! I have big goals and a long road ahead of me. Does anyone have any WW success stories they want to share or favorite recipes? Thanks! :)

Tomorrow (I know- always tomorrow) is day one and 50 lbs to go!

Re: Weight Watchers

  • I think weight watchers is a good way for people to become more aware of what they're eating and how much of it - kudos! and goodluck with the weight loss.

  • i had great success when i signed up for WW in 2010, i lost 25lbs. over the past couple of years i keep gaining and losing the same 10lbs. i just signed up again because i really want to get these 10lbs off and a few more. i have over a year before my wedding but i thought it would be really motivating to start now and work to maintain it. i highly recommend it, you can eat real food and as long as you track honestly and exercise the weight will come off! participate in the community also, its helps motivate and encourage you! good luck, i hope it works for you!!!

I have over a year too! whoo! Go us for not procrastinating! Work now to lose the weight so I can play later as the planning continues!

Thanks for all your input ladies!
  • I started Weight Watchers in February 2012 and lost 40 lbs by May, just by calculating points and walking, nothing else. It is great for long-term health as well! My mom did it and lost 90 lbs in a year, again, just from the points, walking, and swimming. Good luck! I'm getting back on it, getting ready for my wedding!
  • I'm currently doing weight watchers! I've been doing it since mid-november and have lost about 20 pounds. I have about 20 more pounds to lose til I reach my goal.  I've done in the past before and had success, but then put the weight back on after not following the program.  However, the last few times around, even though I would stay within my "points," I was not making healthy food choices.  I ate a lot of frozen meals & processed foods.  This time around, I'm cooking delicious dinners every night and making my own snacks, like homemade granola and apple chips.  I still eat processed foods and frozen foods, I've by no means cut them out completely, but I don't rely on them.  I also work out regularly.  Check out the blog skinnytaste.com, I make dinner using her recipes 75% of the time.  Good luck!!

Thank you! I will check out that site! :)
  • I really enjoyed it. It allowed you to eat what you want but it all depended on what you wanted your points to be. I did it over a summer in college. I didn't have much to lose, but ended up losing about 10 pounds in 8 weeks. If you do it the CORRECT way you should have great success!
  • i just joined weight watchers today and am so glad to hear how well it's worked for everyone who answered your post! unfortunately i am a procrastinator and only have 7 months until my wedding, so i'll just have to do my best before then. anyway, i was just wondering how it's working for you so far, and if you have any tips for me, like how you got through the first week ect.  good luck!
  • WW is great! i've lost 75 lbs in a year since joining, feels really good to lose it slowly and in a healthy way. just really pay attn to the points! go girl ;)
  • I am happy to hear everyone's success with WW.  I am thinking about joining after the holidays.  I often lack the motivation to stick with healthy eating.  It is so hard for me to turn down desserts and chocolate...so I am hoping this will really get me motivated!

  • I did WW at the beginning of 2013. Lost 25 lbs in about 3 months because I did cheat sometimes like at Olive Garden and the like. However, it worked great. I will say though make sure you are sure about it. I signed up again in August but after 2 weeks realized I didn't think it would work because I'm on second shift and forget to track. I went to cancel and they tried to say I didn't get but $11 out of my $60 purchase back because it was prorated. I contacted corporate finally and got my entire $60 back. It was rather aggravating since I knew that wasn't right. So just be wary. I'm sticking to myfitnesspal now cause it is similar. Not points but calories. Good luck!!!
