Phrasing help!

I am the MOH and am having a handkerchief personalized for the bride and her something blue.  I am going to put there names on line 1, the date on line 2 and on line 3 I wanted to put a short phrase but I can't think of anything good.  I was thinking like "Two hearts become one" or "Everlasting love" Any advice???  Thanks in advance!

Re: Phrasing help!

  • Either is fine, I would just put whatever comes to you. maybe something personal or funny you all share?

I didn't put the typical "I love you" on my DH's ring, it's something personal and funny for of us to share. So maybe do the same with you and your friend?
  • My only advise is to pass on it. I don't really want a handkerchief that I'd have no idea what to do with... unless she wants one. I'd rather have "two hearts become one" but I think it's really a preference of the bride.

  • You might make sure this is something your friend would want. She might already have a special heirloom or gift hanky than she's planning on using at the wedding. If so, you could still give it to her as a gift, but she doesn't have to use it at the wedding. I just don't want you to be disappointed if you go to great lengths to give her this gift and it's not as big a deal to her as it is you.

  • If your going to post the same post in multiple boards then it is helpful to use the same title but to put XP before it.

This.  Also, she might already have her "something blue".

  • I don't know if I'd be excited to receive this (what would I do with it?) but if you know your friend and she would like it, sure.  Do you know their first dance song?  FPIL's wedding song is "Always and Forever," and they LOVE when we find things embroidered or printed with that.

  • Only you know your friend. Personally I would love to receive this as a gift, because I'm a sobber and I'm going to need about a dozen hankies on my wedding day. But think about what your friend likes, what her wedding will be like, and then go from there.

  • Thank you ladies!  With the help of the Monogram Shoppe I ended up just doing their names and the date!
