Guest Transportation/Parking

Our ceremony and reception are going to be at a museum.  We're hiring shuttles to take people to/from the hotel to the venue so we don't have to worry about drinking and driving or worry about people getting lost.  Since our venue is a museum in downtown, there is a $5 per car parking fee.  Are we required to cover this expense for our guests who choose to drive even though we're encouraging everyone to take the shuttles we're providing?  Almost all of our guests will be staying at the hotel - over 90% - so this should be a very convenient option.  The shuttle will run continuously so people can leave whenever they'd like.  We will receive a small number of guest passes that we'll share with grandparents and parents so they'll be covered.  We have no other elderly guests.

We keep going back and forth on this one.  Thoughts?

Re: Guest Transportation/Parking

  • As you are already providing transportation, you don't need to cover parking fees. Unless your shuttle leaves someone stranded or doesn't show up, you're covered.

  • Not at all. People know that when they go places in the city there might be parking garages or lots they must park in and pay for.

What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

  • No.  You have already accomodated their travel requirements for the event
  • Thanks, ladies!  That's the direction we were leaning.
