Help finding eclectic bridesmaid dresses?

Hi ladies!

I am having a fall wedding this year and my color is yellow... I'd like my bridesmaids dresses to be different from one another... varying cuts and fabrics and maybe even shades of yellow. Does anyone have any advice on where to go to find dresses like this? I'd prefer to get them all from the same place, so that shades coordinate.

Thanks so much!
Amy

Just tell them to get their own yellow dress. They can choose the style and price. You can even give them a swatch to go by if you'd like. I don't know why you'd want non-matching dresses from a chain bridal shop, it's such a waste of money. I promise no one will rewear a yellow dress from David's Bridal.
  • Thank you! I was thinking from somewhere more like an Anthropologie than a David's Bridal.
  • Is Anthro in your bridesmaids budget? Make sure you ask before making any sort of decision.
  • I second the let them choose their own dress option.

  • If you WANT them all to be different, just give them a general shade of yellow and let them go choose their own dresses from wherever.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

  • My best friend did different shades of orange (all in chiffon though) she went to a bridal salon and looked at a few designer's swatches and picked the name of each color orange she liked and sent that info to her Bridesmaids. She had 8 bridesmaids and we all picked different shades from the designers she picked. 2 of her girls decided they were going to get their own dressed made... which ended up being another darker shade of orange. But when we all lined up it look very nice, it ranged from burnt orange to bright orange to almost a coral!

This sounds really pretty. I only have 1 MOH and 3 BM and we are doing gray but I'm letting them kind of figure out what works for them. I just suggested either same dress from department store or different dresses, same shade/material from a place like DB depending on their budgets.

I like the shade/swatch idea too though and the material. I worried about this option originally because a wedding I went to last year had the bridesmaids just get a purple tea length dress. I'm assuming this is all they were told. They looked really odd because some were cotton, others chiffon, and it some were dusty shades of purple and others were bright and others were dark like plums.
