Hi there!

My fiance and I are trying to decide where to go for our honeymoon at the end of July. Right now we are between Punta Cana and the Bahamas. We want to feel safe. We also want to be able to have fun like swimming with dolphins. Pictures of both places look gorgeous. Any input or hotels you have stayed at would be greatly appreciated! Suggestions of places you've loved that are affordable are welcome too. Thank you!!! :)

    affordable means different things to different people. What is your budget, how nlong would you like to go, and where are you flying from? Also, did you prefer something all inclusive or a la carte?

    End of July is on the cusp of hurricane season. Have you considered Mexico or Aruba?

    I've been to the Bahamas & stayed at the Atlantis Resort, in the Royal Towers. It was a really amazing time & one I'll never forget.. I highly recommend going there.

    My sister went to Punta Cana last year. She had a great time, but I think she seemed to enjoy the Bahamas more.

    I've also heard in punta cana, you really don't want to leave the resort because of safety. A co-worker when there for his honeymoon & he made a comment about someone taking a look at his camera as if they were going to take it.

    There are so many threads here on Punta Cana. Do a search and you should find plenty of information.

    FWIW, I went on vacation to Aruba last August and was bored to tears. If you like just laying on a beach Aruba is fine. If you want adventures and culture, Aruba is not for you.
