Wedding Flowers NNJ/CNJ

I'm just starting out on picking a florist for my wedding. Since my venue includes centerpieces, I will only be looking for loose rose pedals, the bride & bridesmaids bouquet and the boutonnieres.

How much do those items usually start off at in terms of price. I feel like if I know some pricing before I have these appointments I will know if I'm being over charged.

Also, can anyone recommend a good but affordable florist in the North or Central NJ area?

  • I think it will mostly depend on the type of flowers you want and the size of the bouquets.  I am not sure there is a standard. Centerpieces come with my package as well.  I met with several florists ( Including the one who is handling the centerpieces for my venue)  I have a very specific idea in mind in what I wanted for the church, bouquets, boutineers, centerpieces, cake and escort card table so I went around to 4 different florist with my vision.  I chose the vendor that was able to do what I wanted for the cheapest price.  They also had great reviews and I really liked speaking and meeting with her.

I met with about 7 different florists, and most charged about $10-15 for boutonnieres. Their prices for bouquets varied greatly from one florist to another, some wanting $200 for bridal bouquets and others charging $85 for the same bouquet.

The florist that I ended up choosing wasn't the cheapest or the most expensive, but she was the most passionate and honest about her business.  I also really liked her personality and she had great reviews.

  • You can also try looking at local supermarkets for bouquets and things. We have opted not to have real flowers at all, but my A&P would have made everything and delivered them the morning of the wedding.

  • Thanks ladies! I guess I will browse around and maybe bring some photos with me when I go visit florist. I had someone tell me bridal bouquet's start at $150 and I almost fell over. I also never thought about A&P - I will def. check them out.
  • We are using The Flower Cart in Old Bridge and we are getting 15 centerpieces with hydrangeas, roses and daisies, 5 bridesmaid, 8 bouts and my bridal bouq. and are paying a little under 1500.  Flowers were a place I wanted to cut back a bit and I found just by using in season flowers that it took a lot off.  The woman who runs the shop is named chris and so far she has been very helpful.

  • I am using Avenue in Elizabeth. Paying 1K for my bouquet, 6 BM bouquets, 7 bouts, 2 mother corsages, FG pomander, 3 ceremony arrangements, and some small plants for centerpieces (not floral arrangements for the centerpieces - just plants). My main flowers are calla lilies and orchids so not exactly filler flowers. I think it's a great deal.
  • I had a great experience with AW in Kearny!  They were wonderful!
  • Worked with Kim and Pink Dahlia in Parsippany and she was absolutely wonderful. The flowers were gorgeous and of all of my vendors, I trusted her the most to just carry out our vision. I highly highly recommend her!!
  • I am using Avenue Florist in Elizabeth as well.  I needed flowers for the Church and reception so my budget was a bit more.  I am paying $3,400 which includes a Chuppah, 10 flowers for the church pews, my bouquet, 3 bridesmaid bouquets, 4 Mother/grandmother corsages, and 7 boutonnieres for the ceremony as well as 12 large centerpieces for the reception.  The lower sales tax really helped and the owner Nathan is amazing.
  • I'm using flowers by Susan in union she is the cutest most passionate woman! Willing to work with your budget and throws in tons of freebies ! She's a doll!
  • Meet with Yumila in Rochelle Park. You'll be very happy...
