Wedding Party Entrance at Reception

What is the normal protocol for introductions at your reception. Do you introduce grandparents and my uncle is walking me down the aisle. Do I introduce my aunt and uncle too?

Re: Wedding Party Entrance at Reception

  • We introduced the grandparents from their seats and our parents were introduced as they walked in. If your mother isn't married then your uncle could escort her.
  • We went to cocktail hour at my daughter's wedding and mingled with the guests. She had the parents and grandparents introduced from their seats, before the wedding party was announced. You should include your aunt in the introductions.

  • We had grandparents introduced from their seats because standing was just too much for them, physically.  I agree that your aunt should enter and be introduced with your uncle.  Don't forget, she must be a very special lady to agree to sit by herself and enter by herself so her husband can escort you.  An introduction would be a lovely show of affection and respect.  You are, indeed, a fortunate bride to have family who loves you this much.  Enjoy.
