Tips, Tricks, and Brilliant Ideas

Sorry for all the posts lately, its snowing today and we aren't going anywhere.  Its almost 1pm and we are both still in our pjs :D

Anyways, I was wondering if anyone has some tips, tricks or brilliant ideas that has made their wedding planning easier they would like to share.  My brilliant idea was doing address labels for everyone, and then printing them on the clear labels that are sold at Office Max.  I typed them up for our STD and I'll be using the same ones for our invites.  I also did the same thing for our return addresses and will be doing our own labels for the response card addresses.  I have okay handwriting, but the moment I have to write a lot, it goes downhill, quick.  So having them all computer typed up with a nice font really made them look great in my opinion.  Plus it saved me hours more of work.  It still took time to type them onto the computer, but so worth it in my book!  I also think this probably helped big time with errors and having to redo envelopes and such.

    Great idea for a thread!

I'm a list maker, so I made an excel spreadsheet with every single item we'll need so there's fewer surprises- right down to the pens on the guest book table. I made column headings: item, quantity, price per piece, total price, where to buy, additional info. Then I listed everything in order- pre-wedding, ceremony, reception. I also color coded things I already purchased or had a deposit on. It's helped a lot to stay organized, see what items I already have, and budget.

  • I saw this on Pinterest and so far it seems to be working (at least in theory, I'll have to wait till get the RSVPs back to see if it worked!): Create an Excel worksheet for your guest list with these columns: number, names, address, phone #or email, # of guests, RSVP, table, gift received, thanks sent The first column of numbers is what you write very small on the back of that person's RSVP card. For example if Uncle Jim & Aunt Jane re listed at #20 then on the back of the RSVP that goes in their envelope write #20. this way if people forget to fill our their RSVP card you know you sent it back anyways! This hart also makes it easy to track who has RSVP'ed, if you got a gift from them & sent a thank you card, what table you'll seat them at.
