I am looking for some advice on how to politely address this situation. We are having our ceremony and reception at a vineyard, and our contract states that there is a $500 extra charge if more than ten guests arrive before 5pm. The ceremony will start at 530pm (it will, I promise - I think fake start times are rude), but I am worried that some guests would arrive before 5. Is there a polite way to say, "please arrive anytime after 5pm"? I have thought about just addressing the arrival time on the website and not the invite, but the people I am most concerned about arriving early (i.e., great aunts and uncles) do not use the internet. Also, we are having a welcome signature cocktail before they take their seats for the ceremony, so I want to be sure they have enough time to enjoy that - is a half hour enough time?
