I found the shoes I want to wear for the ceremony and pics but now I'm looking for some relatively comfy shoes to change into at the reception I want to spend under $50, maybe a wedge heel or flats. I'm not too picky on color, purple, nude, silver white. I know my dress might drag but I don't wannt my feet to be killing me all night! Any suggestions?

Here are my ceremony shoes for reference 4" heel in purple

Re: Comfy Reception Shoe Help!

  • I would check out Victorias Secret. I got a pair of white wedges (probably 3.5 inches high) to change into.

I believe it was these that I got.  http://www.victoriassecret.com/shoes/all-sandals/glitter-wedge-flip-flop-colin-stuart?ProductID=126740&CatalogueType=OLS. They were super comfortable and pretty much matched my ceremony shoe heel height so my dress didn't drag.

  • Thanks @maggie0829 I even have a $10 birthday coupon to use there! I can't look on my work computer but I will check them out tonight!
  • As a bridesmaid I got some "fancy" flip flops at TJ Maxx for less than $10 - they came in gold, silver and black and had rhinestones (I promise they looked nice!) on the straps. Flats may not work though if your dress is altered for 4 inch heels. You don't want to be tripping over the dress.
  • I agree with sjuhawkz that changing from 4" heels to flats probably won't work.  That is a bit too much of a difference and I would worry that your dress getting stepped or ripped with it dragging that much.  I think an inch or two difference would be fine though even though it would drag a bit.  So, I would definitely look into wedges, chunky heels or something like that that will be easier to move in and comfortable but not as high.

  • The VS shoes look great. I might look into those too. Of course, adding a 3rd pair of shoes for my wedding day seems a bit ridiculous. But I'd rather have back-ups just in case!
