Venues that allow outside caterers

Hello Ladies!  My fiance and I have two tried-and-true caterers we need to choose between. The one thing we don't have is a venue for our October 2014 wedding. We've only found a handful of places that don't require you to use their in-house caterer or exclusive caterers. I am open to suggestions or recommendations from around the state but would prefer locations in or close to Fairfield County.  I am also open to any type of venue but we are expecting a guest list around 120 or so. We'd also prefer if any of those venues could provide tables, chairs, plates, etc.

Thanks in advance for any advice you can share!

Re: Venues that allow outside caterers

  • I'm tying the knot this August at Branford House in Groton. They provide the table and chairs but not the plates.
I went this passed weekend to plan our layout and the view was as always...breathtaking.

    Best of luck!!
  • My girlfriend is going to Pinnacle View but she also looked at Branford House and Alumni Center. You can pretty much bring in whoever as long as they have the right paperwork.
counting down to the big day
  • I will be getting married at the Lounsbury house in Ridgefield. It would def. fit 120, they provide tables, chairs, plates, silverware... It is really a lovely venue and they have been great to work with. And you are allowed to bring in outside catering... What it does not include is linens, glassware... Good luck with the search!
  • I'm also getting married at the Lounsbury House on March 1. They allow you to use your own caterer but i chose one of their suggested ones, Ciao Catering as they have had alot of positive feedback! Tom from the catering company has been sooooo good in helping us with arranging linen and the drink side of things.
  • Terrywile Mansion in Danbury, gorgeous place and the have tables and chairs plus allow outside vendors!

  • We got married last May at the Webb Barn in Wethersfield. It is outside of Fairfield county, obviously, so you may not be interested. They have a list of vendors they "like" but you are able to bring in anyone you want... which is so great! They hold up to 130 people, which would be the size you are looking for. Good luck!
  • I believe Waveny House/Park in New Canaan allows for outside catering. Also check out Burr Mansion in Fairfield, The Loading Dock in Stamford, and Gallaher Mansion at Cranbury Park in Norwalk.
