Ryland Inn - 2013

Has the Ryland Inn held any weddings since it's rennovation? I wanted to see if anyone has pictures of what the new reception space looks like - Thanks!

Re: Ryland Inn - 2013

  • They are currently in the middle of renovations, expected to be completed late-may/mid-June this year with their first wedding late June.

When are you looking to get married? They have another round of renovations set to add a small hotel (a couple rooms for the bride/groom, and family) and a second reception space. I don't think that's supposed to be done until end of 2014 though.

I'm getting married their April 2014 (We fell in love with the current restraunt dining room and put some trust in their designs for the reception space). It's going to be an amazing spot - on the pricey side though.
  • Do you know what their prices are?  My friend was considering looking at Ryland Inn but emailed them about pricing and nobody got back to her.  TIA!
  • I believe that there prices went up now (since I booked before construction even started, there was a lower cost). I might not be totally accurate, but think it's around $200 a person now.

It did take someone from the Landmark Hospitality group a few days to get back to me when I first emailed them.
  • I just drove past the Ryland Inn last night and it was packed! I will have to make it over there for dinner one of these nights. It sounds beautiful- a great improvement from when it was closed down.
AmandaNWP- it sounds like we live in the same area based on this and other things you've posted. I've found some awesome local vendors, so feel free to ask if you need any help (even though it sounds like you definitely have things under control!) Good luck with all of your planning!!!!
  • I went to visit Ryland Inn this past weekend. They aren't built yet but hope to be by the time of the first wedding at the end of June.

its a very pretty venue so far but its hard to gauge what it will look like since nothing is built and there are no archetechture photos. Nice outside area. They are definitely pricey for the area. $185 to start (Saturday) with 10% discount on Fridays and Sundays. Plus the woman that helped me said that prices are going up in July once they open fully. Menu looks great, good looking food with some farm to cuisine. Cake is included with some pastries. Its worth to visit if you are interested.

Krichards0527 - I would love some local vendor recommendations. Flowers and DJs. :)
  • Anyone have any further updates on when this place is going to be built? It looks like they are still under construction... Thanks!
  • My friend has a wedding scheduled for October and they are still not finished! They called all of the brides telling them they would set up a tent in the parking lot for the reception (the parking lot is in the middle of the construction zone) - this should be a red flag to any future brides considering the Ryland Inn.
  • I am getting married there next April. They are currently saying that it will be completed end of October.
I just drove by it this past weekend to "check up" on it and the roof is done, walls are up, windows in and the patio is getting worked up. I would think that by the end of October, early November it should be done. But still can't imagine if I was planning on getting married there this year, I'd be freaking out.
  • Has anyone else heard more about the opening of the Ryland Inn? I am getting married there in June 2014 and I just heard that they wont be ready for their December wedding and the first one will be in March. I am getting really nervous!
  • I too am wondering about this construction delay... Why is it taking so long? Anyone have any inside scoop?
  • They told me Nov. when I visited in Oct. Are they now saying December?

    Lack of funding??
  • I just went the other week and did a little tour of the progress -- it seems like it's all cosmetic work at this point, the big construction is done -- it couldn't be more than a month's worth of work...

@fonecoll Where did you hear March from? Our wedding is April 5, so hearing March makes me nervous...
  • I will private message you all of the information I have. If anyone else has any info please share!
  • Also - if anyone is booked at the Ryland Inn, now many guests are you having? Originally they were selling for 250, and now its 175.

    Thanks!
  • @fonecoll - Who mentioned the decrease in the number of guests?  I am getting married at the Ryland October 2014 and am expecting 200 people minimum.

    Please share what you know!

  • @kmc - it is changed on their website. it used to say it could accommodate 250, and now says 175. i too am wondering about that size change. why would it be so drastic?? anyone hear anything about it?
  • When I met with them they stated 175 too.
  • We just booked the Ryland for January 2015, prices are $150 during the winter & $185 during spring/summer/fall for Saturdays.  They said construction is going to be done by December 8th for a wedding there.  They had told us 175 as a rough max, but the wedding in December is 200 people.  It looks like it could easily accomodate 200 in the space.
  • Is there any update on this? I am looking to book a wedding Oct/Nov 2014 want to know if Ryland Inn is worth looking at? It sounds like the service hasn't been great?

  • I'm having my wedding there in April (3 months, yesterday! ahh) and still would recommend it. This past year it has been going though massive renovations, which caused some headaches. But if you are going in after it's built, it will be a whole different situation.

I think it's an amazing space and Danielle has been helpful (in a hectic situation) to provide details and answer all my crazy questions.
  • Amanda - congrats! Do you have any official details from ryland on the size of the new venue? can it accommodate only 175, or more? I'm considering it as an option, but was only considering when it was advertised as 250. now they are saying 175, so i'm confused a bit about what's going on. any information would be very much appreciated!
  • I would recommend doing a visit of it to get a feel for it -- but I don't think I would want more than 175 people there. That would feel crowded to me.

If you're having a summer wedding though - you'll be able to make use of the big patio, which could make a difference.
  • Ryland posted a picture of their ballroom today!

I ended up booking a different place b/c we potentially could have over 175 but I really love how it turned out!
  • Love it! I can't wait...and we're going to be only the 2nd wedding in the space. Nice and new :-)
