Unique Chicago wedding ceremony

So we are doing our ceremony on a Friday and our reception on Saturday. The reception is going to be at my parents house in a Chicago suburb, but we live downtown Chicago and would like to do our ceremony in the city. I'm looking for a location that would be different then a restaurant or church. It will be later in the night and we want to just do drinks and a little food. I am looking into a boat but was wondering about any other options.

Re: Unique Chicago wedding ceremony

  • We are doing our ceremony at the John Hancock Building...its $1500 for an hour with 30 people and the view speaks for itself

  • You need to make sure the ceremony is late enough after a meal time if you just plan on having "a little food".  Why are you doing another reception the following day?  You're not inviting some to the ceremony and then others to just the reception I hope!

That said, your local board will be able to provide more specific places.

That doesn't make sense.  Your reception is the drinks and little bit of food right after your ceremony; the point of a reception is to receive your guests and thank them (with appropriate food and drink) for attending your ceremony.  What time Friday is your ceremony?
