Nevada-Las Vegas

Are you girls doing favors?

I know many of you are not locals, so I wanted to see if you were doing favors for your wedding and just shipping them to Vegas for your arrival? What are you doing? We are trying to keep our costs as on point as possible and my budget for favors isn't very big, but I feel like we should give our guests something for making the trip and coming to the wedding, so curious as to what you ladies thoughts are on this?

Thanks! 82 more days!

Re: Are you girls doing favors?

  • We decided on welcome bags that we will actually travel with. They will be preassembled with the exception of the Bloody Mary kit.

  • We are doing casino dice and cards.  But we are driving, so we can bring as much as we want.

I feel like favors are one of those things that are nice to have, but won't be missed.  Your reception is your thank you!
We had our dream wedding at Mirage on May 3, 2014!

  • We are doing two very small things - we are getting personalised koozies (drink holder/coolers) for the drinks on the DDB, and we are giving all of our guests a $5 or $10 chip (depending on how much budget we have left) for the Mirage, which is where most guests are staying and where our in suite reception is.

We are of course not giving chips to the 3 guests who are under 21, I am not actually sure what to get for them (they will be 15, 17 and 20) - any ideas?!

  • Thanks, girls! ktbabe530, I never thought of that, but so true- open bar and good food, I bet that is gift, so if I can't find something that fits the budget or will make it in time, then that's how I will explain it. We are also doing a rehearsal party for everyone and supplying food and booze the night before as well...just got to keep them fat, drunk and happy  :D
  • Hmm, maybe you can get them like players cards or something that is Vegas/gambling related but obviously not since they aren't of age (poor 20 year old, JUST BARELY UNDER!)
  • We are going koozies and welcome bags.

  • I'm a local, but for our wedding here in Vegas we are doing welcome baskets for all our guests that are from out of town (which is about 90% of our guests). We plan to include water, snacks, a vegas guide, and a personalized thank you for each set of guests/room. We aren't doing favors at the wedding, though. We think most of them are looking forward to Vegas as a little vacation and won't expect much beyond the free food and open bar! :)

  • We flew down for our wedding so I picked my favors based on size!  I ordered wedding, kleenex, personalized napkin and matches from the Knot (my parents had them for favors at their wedding, so I wanted to do the same).  I also ordered stick on mustaches and personalized wedding tattoos from Etsy.  These were a big hit and our photographer got some fun picture with everybody wearing their tattoos.  Plus my father in law put mustaches on the statues as Caesars which everybody got a kick out of.  I don't think any of our guest were expecting them, but they were a lot of fun!
  • We are driving and bringing our welcome bag supplies and favors. We are doing champagne splits for our guests. We are only having 43 guests and I bought them in your packs at Bevmo. They are crazy expensive to ship. I think I spent around 100-120 on them.

I know she's gutted! Especially as over here (UK) she has been legal to drink since age 18!

Thanks for the suggestion, I like that idea :)

  • i'm doing coasters, a photo booth (so that's kind of like a favor), drink coozies, and potentially buttons - i'm flying and packing another suitecase for wedding items.
  • We put out little plastic bags that had a Vegas-y design so people could take extra cake pops home. It was much easier than shipping a bunch of stuff, and everyone loves food.
