  Hi Mel,
  I'm having the same trouble in finding a venue. What part of Vermont are you looking at? (see my post http://forums.theknot.com/Sites/theknot/Pages/Main.aspx/local-wedding-boards_vermont_need-budget-friendly-venue-in-southern-vt) We are trying to plan a wedding with similar budget and around 100 guests. We are also looking at an early October date.  I've looked at the The Quechee Club too but have not set up a time to go visit. I checked Jackson Gore (part of Okemo Mt Resort) and they already have a wedding booked for Oct 4. Have you checked Echo Lake Inn?
  I've see lots of info on the web about planning a wedding for 5,000 but so far I'm finding it's going to be very difficult to do. The venue and food to be the most expensive things and you can't really cut out either of them!

  You could try the 1824 House in Waitsfield. I know their site fee is around $4500 and its absolutely beautiful.

  Is your overall budget 6k or what you can spend on a venue 5k? Wallingford Lodge in Wallingford VT is $500 if you are looking for some where on the low end. Good luck!

  I'm also in the same dilemma? can you please share with me a little more about the venue you found? do they provide tables, chairs and tent? what about the food? our budget is only about 5k for food, reception and ceremony.

  I've got the same budget - $5k.  I have a small guest list, so I booked one of Jay Peaks options.  Roughly $800 for the venue, and that includes tables, chairs, linens, dance floor and service.  I'm going to have them do the catering, too, so overall I think we're going to end up paying just over $3k for the food, venue & cake.

  Hi, I am also trying to find a place to hold my wedding in August 2015. I have looked at a few places. So far the best I have come up with is the swallows nest in Brandon Vermont. I was quoted a $2000 site fee but would still need to rent everything else, including restrooms. It is beautiful though. I am just not sure my budget will be able to swing it since we are planning about 150 people. Someone mentioned the Wallingford lodge. Did you have any more info about the lodge or how do I find out more information. I can not seam to find a website for them. Thanks Joanna
