  My husband and I had two, and I'm glad we did! One photographer was with each of us as we got ready, so it was a more efficient use of the time we'd booked them for. Plus, they each had a different style/things they would focus on, so we got a nice range of shots and probably more angles than one person would have been able to shoot by themselves. If it's in your budget, I think it's worth it.
  

  
  

  I will add, though, that some of the "amateur" shots my guests took turned out really nice too, so if you can't afford a second photographer, don't sweat it too much.

  We only hired one.  About two weeks before the wedding, the photographer called us and asked if she could bring a second shooter free of charge.  Of course I said yes.  I really loved some of the perspectives that the second shooter got that we wouldn't have otherwise.

  
  

  That being said, I HATE when I go to weddings and they have 2 or more photographers who are in the guests way all the time and in the bride and grooms face constantly.  I literally never saw my photographers the entire day after the formal pictures and they got amazing pictures.  I liked that both of them were discreet.

  I personally like two photographers, because one captures the crowd and the other captures you.  My photographer will take pictures of us, and then the other photographer will take pictures of people enjoying cocktail hour.  That I won't get to see.  As long as they are discrete there shouldn't be an issues with two.

  Depends on how much extra they are charging you for the 2nd photographer. We hired two because the price was great and they are going to split up throughout the day. One with me getting ready, one with FI getting ready; one taking pics of my girls/me coming down aisle, one shooting front of ceremony area; etc. they have a whole plan in place based on our needs. BUT it's only because the price was so good. Otherwise we probably wouldn't have gone for it.

  If you have the extra budget for it, definitely go with two photographers.
