Cake topper!? Help!

I really, really love this love birds cake topper. It's on Etsy for $198.00.https://www.etsy.com/listing/100595706/custom-bird-cake-topper-vintage-style?ref=favs_view_11 I really don't want to spend that much, but reallly want these. Any DIY recommendations, or a place to buy them cheaper would be great! Thanks!

Don't know why they would be so much...it actually seems pretty easy to make something like that. Try a JoAnn's, Michaels, Hobby Lobby, etc. Either make the shape yourself or alot of stores may have a blank bird shape of some sort.

I would recommend taking a picture into the store to show the staff. The staff at our stores here are really helpful with project ideas and what materials to use. Also download the stores apps on a smart phone. They always have 40% off or more coupons on their mobile apps.

Wow those are nice. If you go to Dollar Tree you can find birds like those and then get some fabric and dress them like brides and grooms.

I've seen those nests at Michaels and JoAnn's. It looks like he/she has sewn the birds, so you may not be able to purchase those exact ones, but there are so many to choose from (about $3 a piece). Dress one up with lace, and buy a little top hat from the doll section at Michaels.

A thin black ribbon for a bow tie & cut piece of black fabric in a circle for the jacket, and small piece of tulle for a veil. Hot glue it to a small round wood disc (may 3"-4" diameter depending on the size of the nest) and you got it.
