What is the best wording on a reply card for a wedding taking place in a church? Not sure if that should matter that it's in a church honestly but I want the formality and the wording to match throughout. Any formal wording ideas on the reception card also? I've seen so many different things on the internet it's overwhelming
Also does mailing out invites about 8 weeks out w/ an rsvp reply by about 3 weeks out sound reasonable?

    I can't help with the wording but I think your timeline is fine. I would say 8 - 10 weeks out

    For church, you say "the honor of your presence."  For a secular ceremony, you say "the pleasure of your company."  Everything else stays the same, including the reply card and reception card.  What do you have on the reply card now that you don't think is formal enough?  

    Your timeline is perfect.  Invitations should be mailed 6-8 weeks out, with an RSVP date 2-4 weeks out.

    Most people got save the dates so the whole wedding isn't a shock to them and hopefully they know whether or not they will be coming so responses will come back quickly. Thanks!!

    Your timeline sounds fine, and @MyNameIsNot is right on with the wording.  For super formal events, many people spell honor with the u: "honour".  We also included the name of the church and it's address at the bottom:

    Mr. and Mrs. VT'sParents
    and 
    Mr. and Mrs. DT'sParents
    request the honor of your presence 
    at the marriage of
    VT
    and
    DT
    Saturday, the Fifteenth of March at five o'clock in the afternoon
    OurChurch
    Street Address
    City, State, Zip

    Hope that helps :)

    For a very formal event, you'll also want to stick with white/off-white card stock and black text.  The most formal events use little or no extra decoration/color/etc on the invitation.

    For a reply card, there's nothing you can really do (that I'm aware of) to indicate it's in a church. Just make sure your invitation says "honour of your presence" to indicate it is a (technically public) church ceremony. 

    I usually see something like "The favour of a reply is requested by the first of April" or "We have reserved two seats in your honour." Followed by "Accepts with pleasure" and "Declines with regret" (or some variation). 

    Reception Card wording is typically something like "Reception to follow at half past 7 o'clock in the evening" followed by the location. 

    Oh! And your timeline sounds perfectly fine.

    That wording sounds great.  Thanks I like the inclusion of the number of seats being reserved in your honour too.

    1.  Who is hosting your wedding?
    2.  Is the reception at the church, or somewhere else?
    3.  Is this a Catholic Mass, or a protestant ceremony?

    I just got back from a three week vacation.  Sorry, ladies, but many of your replies to the OP are not correct!

    Assuming the reception is somewhere other than the church:

    Reception
    Half after seven o'clock
    Green Golf Country Club
    Address
    City, State (NEVER put a zip code on an invitation!)

    The favour of a reply is requested before April 10, 2014.
