Wedding Program--Receiving Line Wording?

We are getting married on Saturday (WOOHOO!!!!) and I am working on the final details, including our wedding program (DIY).

We will be doing a receiving line after the ceremony (just us, no parents or bridal party).  The ceremony, cocktail hour and reception will be at the same venue, but in different rooms.

How should I word the programs that we will be greeting our guests in the back of the room after the recessional?

Instead of putting this in the program, I'd just have your officiant make an announcement during the ceremony.
  • Yay!!! Less than a week!!

Honestly, I don't know if I've ever seen anything to indicate that there's a receiving line at the back of the church/room. Maybe someone else has seen some wording, but I never have.

Usually it's pretty obvious, because everyone is slowly moving through to greet the bride and groom. Just stand by the door and greet the first people out; people should get the idea.

  • Yeah, I don't remember ever seeing anything about a receiving line in a program.  From weddings I have been to, when the crowd is exiting the church the couple and whoever else is in the line is already there and lined up and the guests just go from one person to the next.

  • Thanks guys...  I think our officiant is making an announcement at the ceremony so I won't worry about it.
