  Meh, I think it's best to leave it simple for a Save the Date. The whole purpose is just to give someone a heads up. A poem could end up being really eye roll-worthy.

  
  

  Ours just said "Save the date! PDKH and FI are getting married!" with the date and location. Why not just throw a cute photo of you two on there instead?

  Ours were stick figures that said See J. See A. See J and A get married. Keep them simple and don't worry about coming up with any cute poems.

  I've never seen a poem as creative or original as just saying in prose a straightforward message like:
  
  John and Mary
  June 20, 2014
  New York, NY
  Save the date!
