Rehearsal Dinner invitation wording

My FMIL has graciously offered to host our rehearsal dinner the night before our wedding.  At her request, we will be inviting the wedding party and our families, including aunts, uncles, and cousins, to the dinner (and their guests).  Since nearly everyone who will be invited to the rehearsal dinner will be coming in from out of town and our wedding is late enough in the day that some of them might not come in until the day of the wedding, we plan to include an invitation to the rehearsal dinner as an insert with the wedding invitation, for those who will also be invited to it.  How should we word the invitation?  My FMIL is remarried, so her last name is not the same as FI's. The dinner will be buffet style, so we do not need to inquire about people's menu choices.

I was thinking something like:

Unless the rehearsal dinner is really formal (which it doesn't have to be even if the wedding is ultra-formal), it doesn't require this kind of wording.  And it certainly wouldn't need an RSVP card, because the guests could just call or email her and let her know if they're coming or not.

She could write a nice note like:

Please join us at Bride and Groom's rehearsal dinner on Day, Date at Time!
    Venue
    Address
    City, State
    Phone number
    Email address
  • Thanks!  FMIL says she would prefer that we track the responses, so I will include my email and phone number instead, but that is much easier than a separate RSVP card.
