Welcome bag note wording

Hi all.

I'm making two sets of welcome bags- the adult ones (which will likely have a little bottle of wine in them) and the kid bags (we're expecting 4, 2 of whom are my nieces, and all are under 10). I'm hammering out the note I'm going to write to put in the bags (the kids bags will be identifiable to the hotel staff by gold ribbon on the handle), and want some feedback. Thanks.

Kids bags

Hi there! Welcome to Tallahassee!  We are thrilled you are able to come and help celebrate this special day with us!

In here, you'll find a few things we hope will make your stay more enjoyable.  Around town, you'll find parks, movies, museums, and other things for you and your parents to enjoy together!

Keep a sharp eye out on Saturday- we've prepared a few things for you during the reception too!

Re: Welcome bag note wording

  • You love an exclamation point huh? I don't think the kids bags need much of a note, but I'd leave out what they've got around town.  It's easier to just not do something then it is to tell a kid no.  Just tell them you have something for them at the wedding.
  • Ditto 6.  Otherwise, it's fine.  And I love that you are giving them booze.

  • Ok, I'll tone down the exclamation points. Was trying to give a happy/excited tone, but reading your thoughts and rereading the messages sounds too peppy cheerleader.
