Mint, mint everywhere and not a drop of pink.

Hi ladies - I'm needing some opinions and or some advice . My two main wedding colors are mint green and blush pink. I gave my bridesmaids the choice of wearing either color and both want to wear mint. Which is fine and was what I was hoping for cause I like the fact they'll look more uniform (my OCD). I had planned on wearing a blush dress but irony of ironies I found a MINT colored dress that I'm head over heels for (and my fiance is as just in love with it as me...its the first thing he's had a strong opinion about! LOL).

So now we may all be in mint! Will that look strange? How can I differentiate between the three of us? And how can I make make my maid of honor, who picked mint too, stand out a bit as well?

And lastly, mint was supposedly to be my secondary color. How do I keep my blush pink alive in my palette? LOL

Probably stressing about this more than needed but I thought I'd get some advice to see if anyone had any suggestions. :)

  • You are already differentiated b/c you are the bride. Why does your MOH need to stand out? I never understand the need for this. As a wedding guest, I have never cared who the MOH is in the wedding party. They are all bridesmaids to me.

Go with pink flowers to keep your pink in.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

What about using pink in your bouquets? In ceremony flowers? Centerpieces? Your inivtes?

I also never understood why MOHs need to stand out.

  • If your dresses are all similar, you could add a blush sash or something to either your dress or the bridesmaids dresses, but you probably don't need to. You won't have a problem differentiating between you and them though, since everyone knows you're the bride. Check out pictures of white bridesmaid dresses with white wedding dresses, you can see it. Use the pink in the flowers and accents, it will look really pretty.

  • I wouldn't want to be in the same color as my bridesmaids. This is your day to stand apart and that will take it all away. Have your girls purchased their dresses yet? You can ask them to get blush instead or maybe ivory with blush sashes/flowers to really make a point about you being in green.

  • Good for you for wearing a mint dress!! I would be too afraid to be that bold.  However, I agree with PPs that you will stand out anyway since you are the bride. I also agree that I would not want to be in the same color as my BMs. As far as making your MOH stand out, which is totally unnecessary by the way, she is only special to you. However, if it is important that she stand out, I would have her get a different style dress, not necessarily length, just overall style.

To incorporate the blush, I would either get blush sashes or flowers. Or if they haven't purchased the dresses yet, I am sure they would not be offended if you asked them to buy blush dresses.  Just like they would not be offended if you asked them not to buy white dresses if you were wearing white.  You are the bride and they agreed to be BMs, if you have a preference or a request that is not unreasonable, like not wearing a mint dress (provided they have not purchased it yet), it shouldn't be a problem.
  • I agree that even if you're wearing mint you will stand out as the bride. I don't think the MOH needs to stand out but if you're worried about the three of you looking too similar, I would suggest pink sashes for them, pink flowers, maybe pink flowers in their hair, etc. that way they match each other but you still stand out. And I want to see a picture of your dress too! I love mint green and am also using it as an accent color!
  • I don't have any suggestions for you but my dress is mint too!

Make them change to pink! It would be a gorgeous contrast to have you in mint flanked by pink!
