Maid and Matron of Honor dress help!

I need advice! I will be having a Maid and Matron of Honor. One is my best friend who is local and the other is my future sister in law. The problem is, my best friend lives in North Carolina with me, and the other lives in Idaho. There are few common major stores between us. I would like them to be in the same color  and material but it doesn't have to be the same dress. I don't want to go the david's bridal route because i am not a fan of the prom dress satiny stuff. I am at a loss of what to do! Help please! Any advice about what you have seen, or plan to do would be greatly appreciated!

  • You could try another chain store like Alfred Angelo or just tell them what color dress and fabric to get and they get them from wherever (including department stores) on their own.

What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

  • There are a lot of designers that are sold a numerous bridal boutiques.  If you went to a stand alone store in NC, you could probably find a couple of lines that are carried nationally.

You could also go the department store route.  Stores like Macy's have dresses that could work.  Also, JCrew and Target have BM lines.
  • J Crew and Ann Taylor have BM lines, and they can be found in most malls.  I went with J Crew.  I picked a color and material and each girl got her own dress.

Be advised that these dresses are going to retail for $150-250 at least.  However, you can sign up for email coupons for both websites - all of my ladies waited for jcrew.com to have 25-30% off sale before ordering.

  • My BMs were spread out all over the east coast, so it wasn't feasible for us to all get together for dress shopping.  We ended up ordering from Jcrew Factory's website.  They don't have a specific bridesmaid line, but we also didn't want the traditional BM dress look.  The dresses we ordered were only $60 too.
