Venue Help so overwhelmed!

I was wondering if anyone can give me any suggestions on wedding venues in NY and NJ. I visited Crystal Plaza, il Tulipano Seasons and Clarks Landing so far. I was only impressed with Seasons. I want a minimum of 125 or less which is the hard part. I have been to a wedding at the Venetian and loved it but can't seem to find anything that compares due to our number of people. I have an appointment with The Palace at Somerset Park tommorow. Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Try Ravello's in East Hanover. 75 person minimum. Beautiful venue inside and out. :)

For what day/time?  When I called them in 2012, they wanted 150 minimum for a Saturday night and 100 for a Saturday afternoon.

For a Friday in 2014 Addison Park wanted a minimum of 150 people at $170 per person.

Edited:  I double checked the info I received and edited for clarification.

  • Good luck at the Palace. I was married there and loved it. Like you, we only could guarantee 125. We looked at a bunch of places but it was a limited list. Good luck... If you choose the Palace you won't be disappointed.

No, I was quoted for less.

No, my wedding is Saturday evening. I think the place was run by someone different last year.
Oh nice!  I had liked the photos I'd seen of the place but never checked it out due to the minimums.
  • Have you considered the Brownstone in Paterson? The food and service are excellent and they are very flexible with prices and minimums.  We have less than 100 guests for a Saturday night and we are paying about $120pp, including tax and tip.  Also, there are a ton of threads on this board asking the same question; try searching some keywords and you'll probably get a lot more suggestions.

  • Check out the Berkeley Plaza in Berkeley Heights (Somerset/Union County border).  I will be we there in March, it is beautiful, and with that minimum you would have exclusive use of the building as am I (otherwise they have 2 reception rooms so if you are a small party there can be 2 events going on at the same time). Very affordable too!

  • Thanks for all the suggestions I think we found our venue....The Palace at Somerset Park!!! I have a few more venues to look at then we are going to make our decision!
  • If you are still interested in Addison Park they will take a 125 minimum for a Sunday at $145 a person. I'm getting married there next summer!
  • I'm looking at Addison Park tommorow! Do they do tastings before booking?

I've never heard of venues doing tastings before booking.  However, we did get to taste one of the appetizers when we booked at Windsor Ballroom.  Good luck.

Need 8 adults to make minimum.  Eek.
  • Just wanted to give an update! We picked Addison Park and couldn't be happier, it definitely fits us. We are getting married August 3 2014!!!!
  • I am so excited for you! You are getting married at Addison Park exactly one week after me! It really is such a beautiful venue!
  • @MaidofToy We choose them over the Palace because my church was much closer to Addison Park than The Palace.  Also we would have been in smaller of the two rooms at The Palace and it  had half a low ceiling and half a high ceiling which we didn't like. Also I really didn't want carpet. Addison Park was more modern and I loved the grand entrance. Both rooms at Addison Park were basically the same except one was bigger. I also loved the outside at Addison; great opportunity for pictures.
