XP: Thank you card list

This may seem silly but I am creating an "after the wedding thank you card" list. I know that I have to send a thank you card to those who gave gifts, etc but who else?

Re: XP: Thank you card list

  • Anyone who did anything special for you or contributed money in any way (like if your parents are paying--it's nice to thank them).

    Or if someone provided a favor for you, or threw a shower for you (obviously you'd thank them after the shower, not the wedding).

    You could write thank-yous to your bridal party or others involved in your ceremony, like you have readers or ushers (that would probably be done the night before the wedding or at the rehearsal)

    I used a spreadsheet for our guest list, so I just added a column for "gift" and "thank you note sent." The vast majority of TY notes went to invited guests who had given gifts. A few others went to people who were not invited but sent a gift anyway. Immediately following my shower and b-party, I mailed TY notes to each of the hosts (bridesmaids, aunts, FMIL).

    ETA: My sister kept a list of shower gifts and who gave them during the shower, so I cranked those TY notes out the following day. I also wrote personalized notes to accompany my WP gifts at the rehearsal dinner, as well as a nice note to my parents.

  • Anyone who gave a gift or contributed to the day financially or with their time (attendants, readers, etc) should get a thank you card.  You do not have to write thank you cards to people who attended only as guests and did not bring a gift.  The reception serves as your thank you to them simply for attending.

    The same applies to your shower and the associated gifts from that.  Send those TYs out before the wedding as soon as possible after the shower is over.

    @SKPM

    Yeah for showers and things I plan on doing them within 1 week of the shower (at most)

    Yes I know about the shower. I plan on doing those within 1 week of the shower (at longest)
