NWR: Hells Kitchen

I am watching Hell's Kitchen and I am currently on season 6.

I was sitting there with my mouth wide open when 1 guy tried to fight chef Gordon Ramsey during elimination on the 2nd episode.

WTH?!?

Oh and then it says to be continued.... safe to say I am watching the 3rd episode to see what happens lol

Re: NWR: Hells Kitchen

  • I never got into that show. It just always struck me as SO rehearsed. I do really like Kitchen Nightmares though (although, that's super fake too, so I don't know why I like it).

But I'm a huge Top Chef fan!
  • @Jennycolada

I more so have it in the background while I do other things and a few moments catch my attention. That being one of them lol.

I actually can't stand Kitchen Nightmares but love Master Chef haha
  • The orignal kithchen nightmares (bbc) was really good, but when the they brought it to the US it really suffered. I love Gordon Ramsey though. Brilliant chef. And handsome too! :)
  • I'm not a fan of Hell's Kitchen, really. But I ADORE Masterchef Australia. South African Masterchef is so disappointing in comparison, but then, all our "reality" shows are. Everything becomes so damned political - if a white person wins, it's racism; if a black person wins, it's racism; if an Asian wins, it's racism - it's so stupid. And somehow apartheid always gets dragged into it too. *sigh*

I have no idea what I'm going to watch tonight, because we just finished Masterchef Australia All-Stars, and MC Aus Season 5 won't be out here for a while yet. There's something called "The Hero" on its slot...

  • I adore all Gordon Ramsey properties, especially Hell's Kitchen and the F Word. Even when I know it's scripted (the competitions ALWAYS end in a tie!) I still love it. The Master Chef season with Christine the blind chef was really amazing and Master Chef Junior was inspiring.
  • You know you're from NY/NJ when you read the title of the thread and think, "That's kind of a crappy area for someone to be curious about..."

Back on topic, I watch "Kitchen Nightmares" on BBC America. It's hilarious. There are so many obviously staged moments and most of the restaurants do end up closing not long after the episodes air, BUT I love watching Ramsey rip into some idiot who has no idea how to run a restaurant.

    Yes, yes he is

    @selenathegreat

What is the F word about?

I agree MC junior was inspiring

  • As much as I love Masterchef, I can't watch Junior. I end up getting too annoyed with myself because I'm very insecure about my cooking. It's one of the few things I like to think I'm good at, and then I watch 9 year olds making perfect souffles and I lose my shit. Like seriously FML.

Also, I've never really liked the kiddie programs, like Kids Say and Small Talk. I dunno why.

I've been on a major Chopped kick lately though. I like challenging myself to come up with a dish using the mystery ingredients.

  • @urbaneca

I haven't watched Chopped in a long time but now I want to lol
  • @hlvonb The F word is a British kind of food variety show--Gordon faces off against somebody making a classic dish, raises animals with his kids, and teaches recipes. It just has this very British quality that none of his American franchises do. I think I got the discs from Netflix.

BTW, watching chopped right now, home on a snow day!
  • Someone Fi knows was on Chopped.

Well I guess not that surprising, we know a lot of chefs. But it was still cool! He won too!
