BIL is Officiating....

Sixth Anniversary 1000 Comments 500 Love Its First Answer

My BIL asked if he could officiate our wedding, so we agreed.  He doesn't expect any money for doing so, but we would still like to give him something. Any ideas?  Should we tip him? Give him a gift card? Or a gift?

    Definitely a gift or useful gift card. If he is pastor of a congregation perhaps a donation to his house of worship. If he is coming from out of town, maybe pay for his hotel room?

    One of FI's best friends is officiating. I plan on getting him a gift. I was thinking maybe a GC to a restaurant for him and his wife to go to dinner.

    @ClimbingBrideNY thats what I was thinking about getting my BIL; something he and my sister can enjoy together.  They have a 2 year old son so all of their time and extra money usually goes to my nephew.  I thought a GC to a really nice restaurant would be something they would appreciate.
