The BodyHoliday, St. Lucia

Hello ladies,

We have booked our honeymoon at The BodyHoliday in St. Lucia in May. I am just wondering if anybody has stayed here and has some reviews or recommendations that they would like to share.

Thanks in advance!

Re: The BodyHoliday, St. Lucia

  • We just got back two weeks ago! I'd be happy to answer any of your question. We loved it - it's perfect for a honeymoon and it will make almost any type of traveler happy. The adventurer, the relaxer, the beacher. And
  • I can't edit my last post... anyway, the food is fantastic, and they are incredibly detail-oriented.
  • Thanks @zobird! Glad to hear that the food is good, that is always a highlight for us. Just wondering which of the excursions are a must. We are looking forward to some days spent relaxing on the beach but also want to check out the island. Any recommendations for spa treatments? Also, how was your transport from the airport? On some of the reviews I read, some people found them to be long and windy. I get really bad motion sickness so I just want to be prepared!
  • I did a Southern Caribbean cruise and one of our ports was St. Lucia. More so than any other port, St. Lucia had the tightest turns and most windy roads I've ever seen. They're ridiculously narrow and they go super fast. If you can, I'd take something for motion sickness.
  • Actually, we didn't leave the resort once. We didn't want to. We had quite a few people offer to take us around the island, but we were so happy with our daily routine. I heard people rave about the sulfur springs and the chocolate plantation. We played water and beach volleyball every day (we didn't even know we liked volleyball!), I did yoga (Lily is awesome), we did a morning walk, we tried water aerobics a couple times (hilarious and surprisingly effective), and we sailed and kayaked and swam. We spent a lot of time on the beach ordering smoothies and Pimm's Cups and reading.

Our favorite treatments were the aloe very body wrap (we saved that for the last day), the ginger-lime scrub and the standard massage. Hydrotherapy was interesting, but I would skip it if I were you.

The transport to the airport - we took a private car, as it was only $8 more expensive than shared transport. The drivers are very talkative and friendly and point out sites of interest on the way to the resort. It's about a 90 minute drive, but it's very pleasant and scenic. I don't get motion sickness, so I'm not certain how tolerable the trip will be for you - it's a typical "coastal" drive, where you zig and zag gradually but I don't think it was too dramatic. A few hairpin turns. You could let the driver know and ask him to drive a little more slowly, which could help.

Also, make a reservation at TAO (they allow you to reserve one night before you arrive, and you can reserve as many more as you'd like once you arrive) before you leave. Though our favorite place to eat, honestly, was Cariblue - such great food.

Let me know if you have any more questions!
  • Great! Thanks for sharing! I am getting even more excited. I like the private car idea, at least then I wouldn't be stuck at the back of a hot shuttle bus. Also, really looking forward to some smoothies and beach time!
