anyone else in the same boat (vent)?

Univ just started yesterday, it is my last semester. It seems like I will be needing to study A LOT. I am so conflicted! I want to wedding plan but then it stresses me out and some days overwhelms me. I want to do well in school. And I know im getting ahead of myself but I have no idea how to manage my time! I guess I will figure it out as I go. On top of everything every day that goes by I am reminded that med school is fast approaching and I need to get as much done as possible. ugh and to finalize my stress level, waiting to hear back from med school decisions is killing me.

anyone else going through something similar?

Re: anyone else in the same boat (vent)?

  • When are you getting married?  Do you really need to plan that much during the semester?  After booking the venue and really major vendors, like photog, there isn't a lot of detail to plan until you're maybe 6 months out.

Just be really organized and make a schedule.  Wedding planning should not actually be that time consuming unless you are DIYing a bunch of stuff.

  • @JCBride2014 as a med student I will have no time to do anything at all until thanksgiving, xmas, then easter break. My Fi works long hours with irregular end times and can plan in the afternoons and weekends. We want to book everything big before Med School starts, and hopefully I will have almost a whole month of summer to plan. For this reasons I may get a coordinator but it depends if we can find one in budget. We want a June 2015 Wedding.

  • I'm currently a law student and will spend this summer studying for the bar, then starting a job with insane hours, so trust me when I say I am exactly in your same boat.

Try to get the big stuff booked now so it's out of the way.  Then take care of the details during your month this summer.  We are getting married May 2015 and have booked an all-inclusive venue.  Currently booking the photog.  Everything else can wait.  You have lots of time!

  • thanks! :) I am glad others here can relate with us so its good. Unofrtunately the all incluvies here put us way over budget so we are trying to find a vanue and church in order to start looking at other things in the next few months

  • I'm also looking at a May 2015 wedding, with a May 2015 graduation. I will have 3 weeks between the two events and a senior recital to prepare for the entire semester leading up to it. I feel you on the time management stress. I've been spending way to much time trying to plan things right now that I have no business planning. The summer is when you should really buckle down and get your head in the game. We just booked our venue, (also inclusive), and our church. If you live in an area where you need to book a year in advance then maybe worry about that, but if not try to chill and wait till you have more free time. School is important, let's face it. There's no sense in flunking out just because you're getting married.

  • I'm getting married this summer, 1 month after I graduate from grad school. I feel your pain, with only 5 months to go and we are only having a 10 month engagement to start with. I have done all the planning long distance while in school. So I can definitely understand you feel overwhelmed. I have been just slowly chipping away at it each weekend. I use it as a break from studying. You're going to do great! Good luck!
  • Do well in school and wedding plan AFTER exams, on breaks, or just wait. Can't mess it up this close to being done!

  • Maybe you need to plan your days out in like 30 minute increments. That is the only thing that gets me through some weeks.
