Superbowl Sunday!

For those that like football, any Superbowl plans or parties today? We are going to go to FI's uncle's annual Superbowl party. It is out on Long Island, NY at a hall he rents out. He sets up a few huge flat screen tv's, has different card games on tables, drinks, and plenty of food. So, it should be a good time. I'm also excited for the commercials :)

Go Seahawks!!!!

Re: Superbowl Sunday!

  • We go to our friends house. Usually a lot of fun since I enjoy watching football and FI's friends get reeeaaaally into it. They do the box pool, a 30 question betting pool AND random dollar bets (I bet you $1 the next commercial will bea Chevy commercial). They get rowdy and all types of excited...makes it fun.

This year I'm not as into the SB because it's allllll we hear about in NJ. I'll be glad when it's over, for traffic and police presence alone!

Have fun @pinkcow! I'm a Pitt fan, but I'm rooting for Seattle to win!
  • We are having a few neighbors and some of DH's staff come over tonight.   Sad our bigger screen TV didn't make it.  New delivery date?  Tomorrow. Figures.

I just finished prepping my parmesan-ritz cracker-chicken nuggets.   Pot roast has been on since 8am.  It smells so good. Other foods preps can't be done until a little later.   House is all clean.  I'm about to jump in the shower.  Trying to figure out when to pop open my first beer.

I really don't care who wins.   I just want to see a good game.

  • AshleyNicole1218 - That sounds like a lot of fun! They also have the boxes at the party too, I forgot about those. I did a few boxes at work and with another friend, so hopefully I win some money lol. I'm a Jets fan, myself - but I love Seattle, so I am rooting for the Seahawks :)

wabanzi - You sound like my FI the way he is with the Jets. Since they didn't make it to the Superbowl this year (surprise, surprise), he doesn't need to stay in a controlled environment lol.

lyndausvi  - Sorry to hear the TV didn't make it on time! So far the food you have sounds yummy! I say pop open that beer when you get out the shower!

  • Wow Pinkcow, that sounds like quite the party!  Awesome.

We live in Jersey City, which has been a zoo because both teams are staying here.  Heading actually out of Jersey and watching the game at our friends' place in Brooklyn.  Neither Fi nor I are Hawks or Broncos fans; we just want to hang with our friends.  I'm making a huge batch of guacamole.

Our "old" TV is a 55 inch and less than 3 years old.  Hardly slumming it.  LOL.  I would love to pop open a beer,  I don't want to be too buzzed before DH gets home.

Looks like I'm going to have to do another vacuum run before they get here.   The boy in my siggy sheds so damn much.   Plus I think a crawling baby is coming.  Want to make sure it's as clean as it can be there before he arrives.    It's all good though, I like our new Dyson.

  • We're raging it (ha!) and staying home in an effort to avoid the madness in Denver (this city looooove their Donkeys!) and will be enjoying a gluttonous afternoon of beer and junk food. We're also going big baller style with our bets - FI for Seahawks, me for Broncos; winner gets 5 bucks and has to play beer bitch for the night ;)

@lyndausvi - vacuuming never gets old with a Dyson!

  • JCBride2014 - Yea, we went to his party last year and it was a lot of fun. I made my famous sexy mac and cheese last year. This year, since we decided to go last minute, we are bringing a bottle instead. I love guacamole, definitely a must have on Superbowl Sunday! FI just dug out his old Manning Jersey from his Colts days so he is rooting for the Broncos lol.

lyndausvi - FI and I have 2 kitties that shed all over the place so I know how that can be lol. We actually got a Roomba this past Christmas, and so far it is so awesome! We have wood floors so we don't have to vacuum, but the cat hair and kitty litter would pile up daily.

That sounds awesome! I really wanted to stay at home this year since I didn't feel like driving anywhere, but FI can't drink for another week since he is on antibiotics, so we figured we might as well head out and party. Our friends are also having a party and I heard they are playing the Omaha game at their party haha

  • And then there are us nerds.  When I divorced my ex-h he got custody of the sports and I got the kids.  I didn't grow up in a sports type family so the only time I really pay attention to anything is if Michigan State is playing University of Michigan - go Spartans!

Soooo, there is no SB party here but we will have it on in the background so we can watch the commercials.  DS looks forward to the Doritos commercial.  We try not to peek on the internet before the game.  We are such geeks.
