Hotels for guests in Oahu and mini honeymoon location

Hi everyone This is my first post. My fiancé and I are getting married in Waikiki, Oahu next march 22, 2013. we have booked the Coconut club for the reception and we are having the ceremony on the beach at Waialae beach park. Wondering where should we block out some rooms for our guests? The reception is at the Aston beach hotel so we are considering that but would love to hear some more options. Also, after the reception day, my man and I want to stay somewhere else for 2 nights as a mini honeymoon on the island. Any recommendations would be awesome! Thanks! Kelly :)

Re: Hotels for guests in Oahu and mini honeymoon location

  • We were married at Waialae beach park and had our reception dinner at Hokus at the Kahala Resort. For the mini moon if you want to get away from Waikiki area Turtle Bay resort is very nice. We did not stay there but did visit it for a day. See my bio for reviews and let me know if I can help. Good luck with the planning.
  • We are staying at the Aston Waikiki Beach for the first part of our trip, and so are a lot of our guests.  They were really easy to work with to get a group discount rate, and there were no minimum room guarantees required.  They just gave us a promo code, and everyone booked online with it.  We'll be there in 8 days, so I can give you reviews afterwards!

I agree with Turtle Bay for your mini honeymoon - it's a much quieter area than Waikiki.  We will be getting married there at the end of this month.  We were in Oahu a couple years ago, and we started our trip in Waikiki, then ended up moving up to Turtle Bay for one night at the end of the trip.  You could also consider going to a different island for your mini honeymoon - we'll be flying over to Kauai for a few days after our wedding!
  • Thanks for the info from both of you. Noreenchiu I would love to hear how it went at the Aston after your wedding! Savylittlebride, I am looking into using the same wedding coordinator and ceremony officiator as you. Thanks so much! Kelly
  • Thanks for these ideas I am just planning my wedding in Oahu for next february or so!  I just got engaged on Saturday but it's been anticipated for a couple of months and my guests keep pushing me for a date so they can book! Lol

Kelika...can you tell me some more about Waialae beach park and cost? How many guests will you be having?

    Thanks!!
