Hey everybody can you tell me what the average price should be for a DJ in northern New Jersey? Thanks.

    My DJ is $1,850 for the 4 hour reception.  My total is $4,000 + tax with a breakdown of costs as follows:

    $1,850 4 hour reception
    $500 live pianist for cocktail hour
    $1,200 premium intelligent lighting package
    $500 custom monogram for the dance floor

    I met with 4 DJ's and they were all about the same pricewise.  I loved the DJ i picked and he had a lot of really cool planning features as well.

    Mine is $1900 for ceremony music (not live, just the DJ handling it), cocktail hour music, reception music, MC, props, and uplighting. He was only $1100 without the ceremony and uplighting.

    $3200 for ceremony and cocktail music by the DJ. 4 hour reception by DJ. Uplighting around the room and in the dome above the dance floor, 2 60inch plasma screens and spotlights.
    If my dad wasnt paying for my dj package I would have gone with just the music package.
