DJ Advice

We are currently in the process of looking for a DJ for our wedding in October.  Has anyone used Unforgettable DJ's or Off the Chart Entertainment in Freehold?

Re: DJ Advice

  • Hopefully I won't jack this thread too much: but what should I expect a DJ to cost?  We need about 4 hours of reception music and somebody to MC.  We don't need uplighting but I guess we would need whatever normal dance floor lighting they'd normally bring.

  • @jcbride2014, I believe we're paying $1500. Our DJ is providing music for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and 4 hour reception. Because we were referred by friends, we were given a little bit of a discount.

  • Most of the basic DJ packages I've seen to cover what you're looking for were between $1200-2000. Without the MC, it was less.

  • I just booked my wedding DJ with OFf the Chart Entertainment and the guy Michael is amazing!  You tell him what budget you have and he will work so well with us.  Highly recommend
  • I met with Off The Chart Dj's they were really nice and very affordable.  We didn't go with them though we are using Ambient DJ, we are getting a DJ uplighting and photo booth from them.

  • We had contacted numerous DJ's (can't remember the names off hand) and were floored by the quotes for 5 hours of music (cocktail hour and 4 hour reception).  They were between 1200-2000.  However, I was referred by a friend to a very nice DJ who is local to us and knows a lot of the people we know. Since he was referred and actually was very good friends with our Best man and his sister, we got a significant discount.  We're only paying $850 for 5 hours including 'give aways' and dance floor lighting.  That is for a DJ/Emcee and an assistant. Couldn't be happier.

Need 8 adults to make minimum.  Eek.
  • Speak to Mike Chieffo from DJMC! Super DJ!

We paid $1k for 4 hours.  No cocktail hour, no uplighting.  Our DJ also MC'd.
  • I am using DJ Mikey B @ Posh Entertainment.  $4,000 for 4 hour reception, live pianist at the cocktail hour, Premium lighting package and custom monogram for the dance floor.  They have an awesome personal website that they give you so you can pick and choose must play and do not play music and he is awesome.  Their packages start at $1,800 for just the 4 hours for the reception.
