Assigned seating at Mon Ami Gabi - suggestions needed!

Hi All!

Just over two months out! We are having a dinner reception at MAG for 48 people. The space is beautiful, albeit TIGHT. The room seats 50 max. We will have 4 long tables of 10, 12, 12 and 14.

I know I need to at least assign tables. There really isn't room for an escort card table. I think if I just put place cards out there would be a traffic jam while people located their seats.

What do I do? My event planner friend volunteered to stand at the door with a list and tell people their table assignments as they come in. That seems silly.

I was thinking I could have the names displayed in a frame on the tables and no place cards. Not sure how I would do that and it could create confusion.

I also think it's helpful to assign seats to avoid the awkward "Where do I sit?"

Help me Vegas Brides and Grooms, please :)

We are using a roulette wheel inspired seating chart and placing it on an easel at the entry way of our reception. Another similar idea is a frame listing the table seating arrangements. Pinterest is your best friend for ideas on how to make this happen.

Assign tables and let everyone pick a seat - I'm sure it won't cause a traffic jam. We are assigning seating cos Im a type A bride! LOL.

I plan wedding in my home state and we usually stear away from assigned seating. A table reserved for family usually is all you need to do...or two when using rounds. If you are really keen on assigned tables mo's idea is great....just table not seat assignments. Just my thoughts :)

I think I could totally craft something like that up too, Mo! I'm gonna have to look into it :)

Ally, I think Mo's idea of an easel at the entryway or just outside the door would work because you could just tuck it away once the doors are closed (if you have doors?) and then it's gone and not taking up any space once the guests are inside.

Then if you really want to assign seats, you could put place cards at the table. At least people would know where to start looking for their names.

As much as I want to assign seats, because I carefully crafted where each person is sitting, I think I will just do tables as well.

I've been using weddingwire's seating chart app.

We are starting our reception with hand passed appetizers and Elvis/Showgirls. So there will be heaps of time for guests to mingle, find their seat/swap seats if they want to.

I was going to assign tables only, but I got carried away! We are also seating our vendors with our guests so I assigned seating so its not awkward.

And @pinky I knew you had to be some sort of designer/wedding coordinator your decor and plans are Ah-Mazing im coubting down to YOUR wedding so I can steal some last minute ideas. PM me if you are selling anything after your vegas wedding.

Thanks for the great ideas. The restaurant has an easel.

How the hell am I getting a 2'x3' poster board out to Vegas? I'm thinking I'll have to call it into a printing shop or FedEx Kinkos.

We only have 4 tables...wondering what kind of design will look good.
