  It's up to you, but I wouldn't.
  
  Since the reception is in and of itself a "thank you" to your guests, it isn't necessary.
  
  Plus, it doesn't absolve you of the responsibility for sending timely thank you notes to anyone who gave you a gift or otherwise did something really special for you for your wedding.  Putting out these notes might confuse such people that you mean them to take the place of a true thank you note.
  
  And third, at the reception, you're supposed to greet all your guests and thank them for coming anyway, either in a receiving line or by going to each table.
  
  So, I don't see that "thank you signs" contribute anything more "special" to the wedding.

  I put a "thank you" to our parents in the program. This way I didnt have to print another thing.

  And you still need to write TY notes

  We had something very similar to this in our programs.

  
  

  If I saw it on a sign at the reception, I might assume that you intended it instead of greeting me or sending a thank you note later.

  It seems like a bit much. We stood up at our reception and briefly thanked everyone for coming, in addition to doing a receiving line and table visits.

  If you really want do them, I'd only make a sign or two or just through a heartfelt note into the program.

  
  

  Otherwise, it's a small touch that wont add much overall. I wouldn't waste tons of time or effort on it.

  I'm considering using a thank you sign at my reception.  I plan on printing out one, putting it in a really nice frame, and placing it near the programs or escort card table.

  I, personally, don't care for it.  It is too attention getting.  I prefer thank you's to be done privately, and, of course, written thank you notes are always required.  JMHO.

  I've seen these and am thinking of using them also. I will probably put on at each table but will also send personalized thank you cards.

  I like how it looks, but one at each table or setting seems like it's an extra, unnecessary cost. Perhaps one sign when entering or at the gift table, then one when they are leaving. Or, you can use the same sign holder, then just put two signs facing the opposite directions in the same stand, somewhat like a flippable 'Open/Closed' sign, but classier of course.
