Wedding Woes

And it's Monday again

Friday the doctor told me it was a virus.  Nothing to do for it.  Saturday we did house stuff.

Saturday night M2 was miserable.  She kept saying her ear hurt and asking us to fix it.  She's never mentioned pain even when she had an infection so we knew it was bad.  DH took her to Urgent Care Sunday at 9 am.  At 915 he was walking out with a high dose script and a warning that it would probably rupture.  Awesome.

We did manage a small home show Sunday but otherwise I snuggled M2 while the boys played.

This winter can suck it.  I'm pretty sure Max is trying to get sick now.

Re: And it's Monday again

  • Awww.  Poor M2.

Our weekend was all right.  Friday, we went to an Olympics party at my sister's house.  DH's boss was there (my sister lives on the same street as DH's boss and his pand manater. My sister and their wives have become friends/do bunco/GNO/etc.) and he would not shut up about Michigan and us relocating there.  We're still very much on the fence.  DH's boss's daughter is the same age as DefConn and she was hysterical. She wanted to be my BFF.   DefConn kept calling her his 'baby' and wanted to hold her face.

Rest of the weekend-I worked Saturday.  SIL and my nieces came over and spent the night.  DH took the kids sledding.  I never got out of my PJ's yesterday and we watched Olympics coverage all day.
  • pand manatar?

The doc was very impressed with how she was handling the ear.  She told DH an adult would be in the corner weeping.

  • Saturday we signed the kids up for little league.  We're switching leagues this year and everyone already knew of us (ok, well Son).  They're excited to have him play for them and we keep getting harassed about playing on a travel team that plays at the same time as LL.  None of the games conflict, but it basically means twice the fuss - practices, nights at the ballpark, travel, $,  etc.  DH doesn't want Son to burn out (he knows what it's like playing on two teams at once) so we've declined every invitation.  The coach came up to us on Saturday and told us he'd pick Son up and get him to and from the games.  Sorry, guy.  We're not doing it.

Saturday night we went to dinner at my dad's favorite restaurant for his retirement celebration.  It was really nice, except for the owner being a complete bitch to my grandma.  She's got celiac disease and ordered a dish that was gluten free and was very thorough when she explained what couldn't be on her plate to the waitress.  The waitress (a nursing student) promised she'd make sure it was right and wrote everything down.  When the plate came with a piece of garlic bread on top of the meat, my grandma had to ask for a whole new plate.  The waitress agreed that it was wrong and said something to the owner, who came out and very condescendingly said "::sigh:: WELL, IT'S GOING TO BE A WHILE.  WE'VE GOT A LONG LINE OF ORDERS BACK THERE."  Several of us let her know that was uncalled for and the waitress let her know my grandma wasn't just being picky.  The owner turned and huffed back to the kitchen.  It still makes my blood boil when I think about it.

Yesterday I did a lot of cleaning, watched some olympics and then watched the mid-season opener of The Walking Dead.
  • Oh Taw, we're in the midwest where Celiac's seems so inconvenient.  How annoying and rude.  God forbid she can't have dairy either.  People's heads would kersplode.

Weekend was kind of a bust.  Saturday it snowed like crazy so H and I went out to lunch (skipped the shopping) and then went home.  Shoveling about 2.5 times in one day sucks.

Sunday was very low key.  Target run (how do I always spend $$$?) and then breakfast, and relaxing.  H went to work, I did more housework, bathed the pups, and that was pretty much it.

H is on day 6 of day 9, so we're almost in the home stretch.

  • Had what was supposed to be final dress fitting on Friday- the lady mixed me up with another bride and didn't put the corset back in. Going back tomorrow.

My mom was in town this weekend. We went shopping Saturday, which was awesome. Mom hemmed FI's tuxedo pants for him, and measured some of my new pants for hemming. FI and I ran around doing errands and grocery shopping yesterday, got home and I felt really tired.  Got 4 thank you notes done though.

One of our wedding gifts from my godmother arrived, and we opened it to find one of the soup bowls broken. Contacted seller- she's sending a brand new one today. Tried on dresses for RD and private dinner with FI for after our ceremony. RD fits fine, looks nice. PD dress is way too loose, not flattering. Returning that sucker, and ordered the RD dress in another color.

Back to the grind, but brought in a tub of moose munch for my coworkers today. Planning on making brownies later this week for them.

  • Oh Geeze..

    'pand manatar' = plant manager

    That was before my coffee.
  • Sorry to hear about M2.:(

I had a good mix of social time and chilling time. Last night I had a come to Jesus talk with myself about work stress, and I have an entirely new outlook.

  • @tawillers- that owner was a BITCH. It doesn't matter if someone just doesn't want the bread because they don't want it.  A kitchen mistake means they bump the line and cook it on the fly.  It should also mean grandma gets a soup or salad while she waits.  I'd be on Yelp about that.

I've got a FB status ready but just haven't posted it.  I think I will go to yelp as well.  There is only one review there.

This place is pretty popular and it is really good.  We couldn't believe she said that to us.
  • I had my first student leave in a temper-tantrum-y shouting huff by 9 am.
    And I feel like crap.
(I'm not PG though, I felt crappy long enough I grabbed a stupid stick this weekend)
  • @tawillers- I just saw the post.  Can you tag the restaurant?  As a former server this makes me angry.
  • I think I have to like the restaurant to tag it, right?
  • I don't know.  I just thought tagging or even posting on their facebook page would get the restaurant's attention.
