Hotel help!!

Hi there, finally starting to plan for our October 2015 wedding!!! EXCITING!!!! Were coming from the UK and the flights have just been released (if booked as a package with the hotel). We are very budget orientated as we haven't been able to save quite as much as we were hoping due to illnesses etc.
So my question is, what is the best value room in which hotel? We are looking at a small suite and have so far looked at the Flamingo Go MiniSuite, MGM Grand Exec King Suite, MGM Signature 1 Bedroom suite and the Vdara Suites... We would like to be in the same hotel as our guests if possible so the standard rooms have to be budget friendly too. However, we would really like to stay on the strip, centrally if possible. Has anybody stayed in any of the above suites? Would they be suitable for a few drinks with a few friends on a couple of nights?
Thank you to all you lovely people who have already answered so many of my questions by posting on this forum and making me think about stuff I may have forgotten!! :)

Thanks for the article! Not sure how we would book block rooms with a package deal. I guess if we go into the travel agent we could try the same approach... If we book as a group perhaps they would give us the upgrade for free. Definitely worth a shot! Thank you!!

@MishMashPotato I personally would pick MGM. I think it's a great property and reasonably priced. You may want to consider blocking rooms at a less expensive property nearby, just to give guests an option. MGM has lots of restaurants and isn't a far walk from shopping, etc. on the strip. I've never stayed in the above-mentioned suites, but have stayed in one of their newly renovated rooms and was really impressed! I can't speak for Flamingo or Vdara, though I do know that Vdara doesn't have a casino.

we've actually booked our suite at the Flamingo but we booked the Neapolitan suite which is bigger then the go mini suite. In my opinion the go mini suite isn't much of a suite it was almost the same size of a regular room there were no rooms separated it was all open together. When I was out there last August I was able to see the different sized suites.

We chose the Flamingo for those same reasons - we wanted to be central, we wanted to have nice affordable rooms for our guests and all stay in the same hotel. I've stayed at MGM and like it as well, but for us, we liked it being more centre of the strip. We got a GO mini suite and found it was enough for us - they have different layouts - ours had an extra living room area (not a separated room) with 2 sofas, table etc which gave us the extra seating room.

One thing for your guests - I would recommend choosing the GO rooms over the cheap FAB or Deluxe Rooms - they are still very affordable and are much nicer than the others. A few of our guests didn't heed our advice on that and regretted it :)

We chose the tower suite at the mirage, not on your list but we found on a week night it was amazing value, we also have stayed in the mgm and loved it

I second the Flamingo suggestions. .. but on my last trip to Vegas I loved the Vdara. Its excellent value and very easy walk to either the Bellagio or Aria (my fave) casino.

Ive also stayed at MGM which was nice but I prefer to be closer to the mid strip area.

We have booked a room block at Elara and Planet Hollywood for our wedding.

Thanks for all the suggestions!! I do really like the look of the MGM and the pool looks awesome! I think we may like to be more central though. I did think that if we stayed at the MGM and the prices were too expensive (although they are coming up very reasonable) our guests could stay at the Luxor, Excalibur or NYNY which are coming up slightly cheaper. Theres so many decisions!!!
Thanks for the advice about the Flamingo. I will definitely look into the neopolitan suite.

Has anybody stayed at the signature suites at MGM?? I have read from reviews that theres quite a walk to the MGM? Has anybody had any experience of this?

@misssmo14 I came across the Elara whilst searching for package deals. It seems again pretty reasonable. Have you stayed there before??

Thanks again for all the replies! I love the Knot!!! :)

I havent stayed at the Elara but I did visit it on my scouting trip. The pool area there really isnt that great though so I would lean towards MGM/Signature if you are after a great pool scene at a reasonable cost.

Plus MGM usually have 25% deals on smartervegas.com which are excellent value.

I've stayed at the Signature it is about a 10-15 minute walk out to the strip but the rooms are really nice and they have those people mover walkways so that wasn't too bad.  I'd stay at the MGM if we go back and wanted to stay in that area of the strip.

@MishMashPotato Honestly, I feel like everything at MGM is a bit of a walk so I wouldn't let that deter you. By this I mean the parking garage seems lightyears away from the Grand Garden Arena and the restaurants/shopping are quite a bit of a walk from the hotel rooms... but still, as I said before, I really like the property and LOVE the pool :) as far as not being central to the strip, it's really not THAT far of a walk, and most people come to Vegas and enjoy walking the strip. And as you said you can always block rooms at some other locations to give guests a bit of a choice.

Thanks for all the help guys!! The signature is coming up with some pretty good prices so fingers crossed we will get something booked soon... Were still swaying between the flamingo although I was browsing through the reviews on tripadvisor and they weren't that great. I do know theres a few different types of rooms but I'm not sure if its the best option. I also saw that the signature is slightly closer to the middle of the strip being near planet hollywood so I think were pretty sold! Can't wait to get it booked!! :)

@mishmashpotato - Yeah, the reviews of the Flamingo can be all over the map. It worked out well for us - but I'd stayed there before a couple of times, I have to say I'm not sure how confident I would have felt without having stayed there before. :)

I think the most important part about the hotel choice that worked for me and my guests, was that we could all be in the same place- i think MGM standard rooms are pretty reasonable so you wouldn't be putting people out - I've stayed there and love it too :)

We are staying at the Flamingo and getting married there. I was leery b/c the last time i stayed at the Flamingo was over 10 years ago and it was a dump, but i have been told it has gone thru renovations and is very nice. We are staying in the 2 bdr suite which i think is the Metropolitan Suite ...i looked up the videos of the rooms on youtube, we love the Monte Carlo but it is a walk from everything. I really really love the Paris Hotel but unfortunately the room rate was a bit to much

@ssteele04 I'm a flamingo bride too! When is your wedding? How much was it to upgrade to the metro suite? I really wanted that suite but we ended up going with the Neapolitan suite.

@Valeriecruz82, we are getting married July 20, 2014:) we were originally going to go with the GO deluxe rooms, but were told that those rooms aren't next to each other so we were worried about having our kids be at the opposite end of the hall  ( we have a 13 year old, 4 year old and 16 month old) anyways it was right around $1300 for the 4 nights

I would shy away from the signature unless u plan to valet. The walk from mgm to the sig is long and boring. I liked the basic rooms at mgm never got a suite there. For u r budget minded guests the tropical a is right across the street and they just had a big renovation. I've stayed at the flamingo alot because I got free room from total rewards. There is lots of pink so if you're Fi is a man's man he might be more comfy at the mgm
