I ordered my invitations really early (we won't be sending them out for a couple more months) and I must have been feeling exceptionally sappy that day, because when I look at them now, I'm regretting the wording we used.
I don't have one in front of me at the moment, so I can't tell you exactly what they say, but it's something like "we invite you to share in the joy as we begin a lifetime of love." There's also a sappy poem in the corner. One or the other of them might have been okay (the poem is kind of nice), but I'm really regretting the combination of the poem with "lifetime of love."
We're pushing 50, for crying out loud, and "lifetime of love" could be considered a bit over the top. Fiance likes them and doesn't want to spend the money on replacements, but I just know some of my friends are going to be gagging over these. I don't know what I was thinking.
So, words of encouragement to keep them or support for spending a bit more and getting that line removed? What do you ladies think?
