Shoe heel heights question

I'm considering buying 2 pairs of shoes for my wedding, just in case the first pair aren't quite as comfortable as I"m hoping for. The first pair...for the ceremony, pictures, etc. would be a heeled sandal with a 2.5 inch heel. For the second pair, I'm thinking a nice wedge, that's comfortable and easy to dance in all night. My question is...should I get a wedge with a 2.5 inch heel as well, or should I get a 3 inch wedge. Essentially, would it be easier to dance with the hem just a tiny bit higher off the floor? Any suggestions on heel heights? Anyone else have 2 pairs of shoes?

Re: Shoe heel heights question

  • A half inch really will not make much of a difference in regards to your hem.

I had two pairs of shoes and basically did what you did.  I made sure that the wedges I got were pretty much the same height as my heels (if not a smidge taller) so that I wasn't tripping over my dress all night.

Thanks! Glad to know I'm not completely crazy. I was a bridesmaid in my brother's wedding and the dress had a train (that crazy nightmare of that wedding is another story), and I was just so annoyed with stepping on the hem, even though it was seemingly-appropriately bustled, all night.

I probably will go with the half inch difference (half inch higher for the wedges for dancing). Now to decide if I want 2" and 2.5", or 2.5" and 3"!!
