I am thinking about having a string quartet for the wedding. My step-mom is a music teacher and knows a lot of people who could do this for me.  I wanted the quartet to play for the ceremony and maybe into the cocktail hour.  I know certain vendors are to be fed (feeding dj, photographer and officiant).  Do I need to invite the ceremony musicians to the reception, feeding them dinner, as well?  (I am still undecided about them playing during the cocktail hour... not sure if that will affect the advice I am given.)

    If they are only playing during the ceremony & cocktail hour they do not need to be fed. If they only preform during the ceremony you most definitely do not have to fed them. Vendors that are working before, during and after dinner service need to be fed - unless their contract states otherwise. Same goes for the officiant, you don't have to invite them to the reception if you don't have a relationship with them.
