Bridesmaid dress vision help?

I am not a good visualizer, I never have been. I can't picture what this would look like, so if any of you are good visionaries, please help! Also, if you can sketch you can pm me a sketch that would mean the world!! I can't draw and don't know anyone who can. So you can see my dilemma.

Ok, so here is my idea. Let me know if its thumbs up or thumbs down, please! :)

I am having three bridesmaids (matron of honor, maid of honor and bridesmaid). Two live near me and the other one lives across the country. I have three wedding colors(deep purple, butter cream yellow and heather gray)  and had an idea for their dresses.

I put my matron of honor in a deep purple dress, and the best man with a deep purple tie. My maid of honor in a butter cream yellow dress and the corresponding groomsman in a butter cream yellow tie. And then the bridesmaid in a heather gray dress and the corresponding groomsman in a heather grey tie.

Yay or Nay?

Ps... if you can sketch something and pm me, it would be amazing! But any help would be appreciated!

Re: Bridesmaid dress vision help?

  • go on David's bridal, they have a thing called the dress the wedding , it helps visualize what the colors would look like together
http://www.davidsbridal.com/browse/dress-your-wedding. it helped me alot! and im also doing different color dresses my MOH is wearing sage the next bridesmaid is wearing wisteria and then my last is wearing plum! it looks great! yours sounds good!
  • Thanks for your advice kellebelle12 :)http://www2.davidsbridal.com/dyw/stage.jsp

    Thanks so much :)
  • I think it will be nice, and have their flowers pull in all the colors
  • im not a fan of different colored dresses but as others said check out the davids bridal app to see if it would work
  • the app does not always show the true color itself (I know my color looked totally different online then it did in person! I actually changed my color once I saw it in the store), so you can still try it but I would go into a davids bridal and look at those colors together to get an idea of what they will really look like.  I do like those colors together but the purple may pop more than the gray and yellow (and make sure the girl you have in yellow can pull it off! I know me being pale, yellow would look horrible on me, lol)  I think it could be done but is something you should see for sure.  I personally think you would be better off with the girls in the purple dresses, yellow in the flowers and the guys in grey suits with purple or yellow ties.

  • I think it is fine to mismatch colors but stick to similar styles to look cohesive. Also make if they have corresponding groomsmen make sure those people are already picked and will not likely change, or you could have an odd girl out. I agree with Erickan about the flowers pulling in all the colors too.
