Stuck on Finding a Venue

Hello Knotties!

I've been involved with the Knot for a long time (as I was formerly a Director of Catering for a property in San Diego), but this is now my first post being on the other side of weddings- the Bride-to-be!

My fiance and I are going to do a quasi-destination wedding (we live in the LA area) in Vegas this October and couldn't be more excited. We are looking for some pretty specific things in a venue and I seem to be running into some walls. I have found a couple of places that might* fit the bill, but as I am setting up appointments for our visit next weekend, I want to make sure I don't miss something awesome. I was hoping that all you wonderful brides could help me with some great venue options based on the following requirements:

1.) Outdoor Ceremony with Indoor/Outdoor access for the Reception
2.) Can accommodate 75 guests (this is where it seems to be tricky)
3.) Unique setting with a "Vegas" feel (not interested in a hotel ball room /country club- there are plenty of those in LA)
4.) Awesome view

Thank you so much in advance for your insight!

Thank you all so much in

  • I would look into the foundation room at Mandalay bay. Also the platinum Hum that all off the top of my head...

  • I second the Platinum as a suggestion.

Have you looked at the neon boneyard museum? Or Hyde at the bellagio in front of the fountains?

Here is a wonderful list of wedding venues.

  • I had my reception at the Jupiter Pool at Caesars Palace. It is an outdoor only venue but can accommodate up to 100 people for a cocktail reception. It doesn't look like much during the day but at night with all the Caesars towers lite up, it looks amazing! We also rented some patio heaters and the weather was perfect. The only downside is they do have fairly high food and drink minimums. The food was great and both us and our guests had an amazing time.
  • Thanks so much!
  • <3 Neon Boneyard! But if you're looking for indoor/outdoor, what about Bali Hai Golf Club? It's practically right across from the sign. Not quite your style? The Smith Center, our new performing arts center, is stunning, pulls from Hoover Dam, and has both indoor and outdoor spaces.
Platinum's a great place, but there's not much outdoors, AFAIK, except the pool.
  • Caesar's has two outdoor ceremony spots that at least one of is large enough for your guest count, and 75 is the perfect size for the private room at Joe's stone crab.  Joe's private room doesn't have outdoor access, but if you want the reception outdoors they do a heavy appetizer cocktail type reception outside in a grassy area next to Caeser's colosseum which is a pretty unique spot.

I looked at both Hyde (Bellagio) as Kiki mentioned and Chateau (Paris) for a fountain view spot, the disclaimer is both locations are pricey with pretty high minimums AND since they are a club you have to be done by 9 pm, while you and your guests are welcome to stay at the club, it does turn into a club so your reception has to end in time for them to turn it over.
  • I ran into the same exact scenario and did a TON of research.  Unfortunately, I cannot do it at the Platinum because it was booked.  However, the Platinum is the best option for that size.  Price, location and setting :)
  • I'll just add one more to the Platinum Pile :) We got married on the rooftop there at the end of September in 2012, had about 65 guests and it was absolutely perfect with the indoor out door options and the strip view was amazing. :) We had the bar, dj and dance floor set up outside, with some high tables, and inside had all the low tables for lots of seating, had a photo booth inside as well

  • Oh, check out the Mob Museum too, for that vintage Vegas feel. Not sure about the outdoors part, but definitely a unique place.
