Valentine's Day Wedding - ugh!

We have a wedding date! And it coincides, comically, with Valentine's Day 2015. So. Unintentionally. Cheesy! We first looked at dates in January and early February, and each open weekend knocked out of contention for various scheduling reasons. We came upon Presidents Day weekend, which seemed to be a good choice as it would provide our guests with either more time to travel or to spend in Vegas. We laughed at the date coinciding with V day, even started looking at dates further out in February and March, but decided to go for what we think will be better for guests travel-wise, as a three-day weekend, and deal with the hokey-ness of getting hitched on V day. So, here we are! The chapel (THEChapel at Mandalay Bay) and our reception site (Auerole at Mandalay Bay) are contracted and deposits have been made. We keep laughing at the coincidence and what is sure to be amaaaazing people watching this time next year. Now we need to assure our guests there will be no Elvis Baby Cupids in the mix... Cringing, but happy to have things booked!

    You will absolutely love Thewedding Chapel at Mandalay! We got married there last May (can't believe 3 months will be our 1st year already!), everything was gorgeous and everyone was so nice. All the guests couldn't stop raving about how the chapel was so elegant and how beautiful they did my bouquet. Congrats!!

    That is so nice to hear, Fablove. I've been impressed with the communication at the chapel so far, but have read some reviews where others did not have great planning experiences. Happy to hear you had a great experience. And happy early anniversary to you!!!

    We just got married on Feb 15 of this year......just a fyi, in vegas on this weekendcause it was presidential weekend was extremely crazy busy , the strip was unwalkable n traffic was NUTS lots of grid locks! So keep that in mind , have fun! And remember to breath......

    Thanks for the info - that is good to know! We wound up changing out date to a later one due to issues with the reception space. Even though it was a hassle originally -- paperwork and deposits in progress -- I am glad to not be having a 'holiday' wedding! I hope you had a wonderful wedding weekend despite the crowds, Connor. Maybe the more the merrier in toasting to you!
